JAMES FRANCO AND ANNE HATHAWAY WILL HOST 2011 OSCARS. ATMOSPHERIC NEW TRAILER FOR "GAME OF THRONES". NEW TAKE ON JANE AUSTEN IN "FROM PRADA TO NADA".

Ah, here's something possibly quite charming: FROM PRADA TO NADA is the whimsical tittle of the Latina version of Jane Austen's classic novel "Sense and Sensibility"
coming out this January. Starring Camila Belle and Alexa Vega it follows two spoiled sisters when they are left penniless after the sudden death of their father. Forced to move in with their estranged aunt in East Los Angeles, they end up in a fish-out-of-water story in which the girls will ultimately find romance, as well as love for their culture. Must admit I love the tittle :)

Now this is quite strange and not at all shocking as they told us it would be: the host of the 83rd Academy Awards next February will be Anne Hathaway and James Franco. They will co-host the ceremony as the refreshingly young stars  in that role. I don't know what to think about this. Your impressions?

Warner has announced yesterday their new multiplatform series AIM HIGH about a young man (Jackson Rathbone) who is leading a double life - juggling his studies by day and serving as a government agent by night. He is one of the country's 64 highly trained teenage operatives. When he's not handling international spies, Nick is dreaming of Amanda Miles (Aimee Teegarden), the most popular girl in school who's cool, intelligent and very alluring.

Yesterday I showed you some new pictures from HBO's upcoming epic fantasy TV series GAME OF THRONES, and now here is the brand new trailer. Starring Sean Bean and Lena Headey, the series will follow the battles and intrigues of seven royal families fighting for the mystical land of Westeros.

  1. That's an odd pairing for the Oscars. Though both are good actors and Franco is nice to look at, but I like when comedians host.

  2. btw, I like your Brandon Flowers video on the left side. He was performing in Chicago last week and I missed it! I started following him on Twitter and the first post I saw is that he was in Chicago! I'm usually more on top of these concerts!!!! Next time...

  3. I have to agree with Kelly. The Oscars seem to do much better when a comedian hosts. Like the plot behind From Prada to Nada.

    it is odd, isn't it? They could've asked you and me :) We are also nice to look at :)
    OMG, how could you miss Brandon??? The new video really is great, although I like the first song from his album better. But the video itself is stunning.

    @Masy
    I kinda knew you would like FROM PRADA TO NADA,Masy dearest :)

  5. How come you have the same Hathaway photo with one in my Cafe, also in the same report as well :) I thought Hathaway has much more chemistry with Franco than with that guy in unnecessary love drugs film.

  6. Wow, they're adding a young flavor to the academy awards. That should be exciting and increase viewership. Great news.

  7. Hm. I won't be watching the Academy Awards this year (no TV), but that seems like an...odd...choice. I liked Franco until he wrote that ridiculous short story...

  8. @Jaccsy
    I asked the same thing over at your place, Jaccsy :PP But I did use this photo of Anne before as well :)
    Speaking about the love drugs things, I love the new paparazzi pics of Anne and Gylenhall totally nude while shooting the naughty scenes :) He was very excited (literally) when she showed him her boobs :)

    @Clarissa
    I hope the audience will like them, I'm not sure currently about the whole thing.

    @Summer
    I generally don't tend to watch Oscars in last few years since they've become a bit ridiculous when it comes to winners and the nominated stars.

  9. At some point, Sean Bean is going to play a character that doesn't get killed. Although, his death this time around is much better than Boromir's fate (poor, stupid, Boromir).

    It's nice to see that they didn't CGI the wolf pups in for the Stark kids. I was a little worried how they would handle that. Hopefully, when they bring in the soldiers from the north riding their mammoths, they get the teams who have done these things for Discovery.

  10. i don't really watch award shows... franco was hilarious in freaks and geeks- maybe he'll be funny this time? anne hathaway is very charming- but the pair of them hosting does seem odd... i hope they do well!

    game of thrones! i sure hope it comes to netflix quickly! :) stupid hbo!

    and nada to prada! lol! have you ever seen bride and prejudice? :) it's a contemporary Indian version of P&P.

  11. There's always Hulu, aspiring. That's how I plan to watch it until I can buy the series.

  12. From Prada to Nada sounds like an interesting chick flick.

    Of all the working actors in Hollywood, why choose those 2 to host the Oscars???

    ReplyDelete
  13. I wondered who would replace Hugh Jackman this year at the Oscars.

  14. Prada to Nada is a story that takes place in my neighborhood! I'm right near East L.A.

    I prefer the comedian hosts. Maybe they should have tried someone like Conan O'Brien. Or how about a really radical choice like Sarah Palin? Hollywood would love that I'm sure. Every year the Oscars get worse.

  15. Hmmm... Thumbs up to Prada. Ditto to Thrones.
    Give me a break to the Oscars. Chemistry doesn't seem right and nothing will help that show with the young until they find a way to shorten the illiterate speeches.

  16. I'm really looking forward to a Game of Thrones. I think that I've not read through G.R.R Martin's books will allow me to enjoy the series a lot more. Besides, anything with Bean in it has gotta be good :)

  17. @MJ
    and at some point Sean Bean might even play a man without a sword :) I'm not sure they will go as far as mammoths in GAME OF THRONES,but I'm sure keeping my fingers and toes crossed.

    @Vics
    to admit the truth, I really don't get Indian and Bollywood films :) And what do you think how do all of us who have no American channels watch all the shows and films? :)

    @Lisa
    that's my point exactly, they cannot tell us those two were the best ones among thousands of other stars.

  18. @Alex
    now you know

    @Arlee
    and did you also go from Prada to nada when moving to East LA? :))Do you really hate us so much that you'd want us to watch Palin as Oscar host? :))

    @Mary
    the speeches are lesser problem than the wrong people who are giving them.

    @Jamie
    I know you will enjoy this one, Jamie, as a fellow epic/fantasy/history lover :)

  19. I like the idea of the younger hosts. I hope they make it amusing.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Not nada yet but maybe soon.
    Come on where's your sense of fun? Wouldn't you love to have Palin there and see the Hollywood elites squirm in their seats? They should try something totally different because the Oscars have become boring and trite.

  21. Not sure about Prada to Nada.

    I am a fan of Anne, have been since the Princess Diaries. I am looking forward to watching her host the 83rd Academy Awards. As for the pairing; why not? Maybe it is time for something different. Always optimistic and open minded......:)

    Great photo of Anne by the way but then again, you always have good taste.

  22. @Lynda
    keeping our fingers crossed

    @Arlee
    I'm sure a bestseller with your name on the covers will bring you some cash (don't forget us then :))

    @Avalon
    I reckon you like Anne's long dark hair in that pic :) BTW you've seen that pic before at HOLLYWOOD SPY but with Anne in a bit different pose.

  23. I like both the choices for Oscar hosts, though I don't usually watch them. I don't have the patience, and it seems they just drag it on and on and on. With James Franco hosting, that might be tolerable, though. :)

  24. Hi DEZMOND - I've missed so much! You've had all sorts of cool news. Loved the Wentworth Miller pics and that Marilyn pic. So excited about the new Underworld movie. I love that Kate's coming back. Aim High sounds like a fun show, too.

    Missed you as well. =D

  25. Not sure about the Oscar pairing, time will tell~
    Aim Him sounds intriguing(He is best known as
    a "Twilight" vampire, named Jasper) Prada to Nada
    sounds like a fun flick~ Thanks for all the info.

    I think I will have to adjust my camera; I reset it to take pics for my store and I think this is why everyone is telling me my photos are HUGE!
    You will have to let me know, they appear normal on my screen! Thanks~

  26. @Susan
    I hear you sister, about Franco making Oscars more tolerable :))

    @Shells
    not as much as I missed you, darling :)

    @Ella
    Ella all you need to do is the following: when you are writing your post you need to click on the COMPOSE button in the upper right corner of the box. Then you need to upload the pics, and when they upload you need to click on each of them and the little tools for editing will appear beneath them. You just need to choose the size (large, medium etc) and position (left, right, center) and the pics will appear in your post when you publish it in the smaller size. This still means that your readers and visitors will be able to see them in original (big) size when they click on them while reading your blog.

  27. I should hope they won't have the mammoths in Game of Thrones, since they didn't show up until Storm of Swords...

  28. You have some great news. I think I told you yesterday my thoughts on the two young people doing the awards. I think some in Hollywood might not recognize them however. I hope it brings in viewers.

    Have a great day!

  29. @MJ
    exactly my guess, Mj

    @Clarissa
    Glad you like the news, Clarissa :) I'm guessing it all depends on what kind of script will they write for the two of them :)

  30. I'm all for younger hosts, but I'm just meh about these two. Neither one will sway me one way or the other in seeing the Oscars. I still think Billy Crystal is the funniest and most natural host.

    Prada to Nada looks interesting, though I've never seen the cast in anything before so not sure how good it'll be. Hollywood tend to butcher Jane Austen adaptations IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm with you, Flixy on the hosts. I will still give them the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not overly optimistic.

    Now, this is very naughty from me, but I think Jane Austen books deserve to be butchered a bit :PPP

    ReplyDelete
  32. He..he.. well if you're gonna butcher it, might as well go all the way... like that Pride & Prejudice & Zombie thing that actually sounds ridiculously interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  33. oh, yes, I do love me some zombies eating poor Jane's virtuous damsels and dashing gents :) If only the zombies would infest the White House and Bollywood as well :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think it will be cool watching them host it, but then if not its just pleasent eye candy lol

    ReplyDelete
  35. yep, the eye candy is guaranteed :)
