"PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES" TO BE DIRECTED BY JONATHAN DEMME. ASIAN WESTERN IN "THE WARRIOR'S WAY". HEMINGWAY'S "THE GARDEN OF EDEN" FILM ADAPTATION

A whole bunch of directors is fighting to get the helm of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES,  a crazy parody in which Jane Austin's classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in
19th century England is faced with a new challenge - an army of undead zombies.  Based on the novel by Seth Grahame Smith, the film might be directed by Jonathan Demme (SILENCE OF THE LAMBS) who is currently the strongest candidate and who could give the main role to Anne Hathaway.

Check out the poster for an Asian movie with a lot of Western actors in the cast: THE WARRIOR'S WAY with  Kate Bosworth, Geoffrey Rush and Danny Huston and Korean actor Dong-gun Jang in the lead role.
This visually-stunning modern martial arts western  follows an Asian warrior assassin forced to hide in a small town in the American Badlands. The film is out in USA this December.

If you like Ernest Hemingway, you probably shouldn't miss the adaptation of his posthumously published novel THE GARDEN OF EDEN coming out this December. The story follows a successful American writer (Jack Huston) and his wife (Mena Suvari) on an extended European honeymoon as she becomes restless in the relationship and draws an Italian girl (Caterina Murino) into their lives. According to "Movieweb" the cast of this Jazz Age, erotically-charged romance also includes Richard E. Grant and Matthew Modine.

  4. Now that's a very interesting poster for Warrior's Way. The flying hitmans in the background especially are the attention-grabbing.

  5. I wonder if this P&P zombie flick will ever get made. I heard about it when Natalie Portman was attached, then there's rumor swirling recently that Scar Jo is playing miss Bennett. Well I'd rather have Hathaway in the role personally. I like Jane Austen's work and this one obviously has a crazy twisted concept that got me curious. Not sure the author would be happy with this adaptation though :)

  6. I suppose I could do a quick search on this, but wasn't "Pride and Prejudic and Zombies" written by the same bloke who wrote "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter?"

    If so, I believe that taking history and classic works and re-imagining them with supernatural elements is kind of his thing.

  7. DEZMOND - Hi. I still haven't read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I really want to though. It's high on my list. =D Wow. The Warrior's Way sounds like a great movie and the poster - Yowza!!! Can you tell me one thing though? Does it end happily? I need a happy ending. That may be sad, but it's true. ;D

  9. P & P and Zombies should be fun. I read the book last year after first reading the original Jane Austen version, which I'm glad I did. The zombie version was silly fun, but I really dug the original and my wife and I proceeded to watch every film version we could get our hands on.

    I've never heard about that book, either, it was published after Hemingway's death

    @Jaccsy
    it's true :) I've noticed the background and his costume first as well :)

    @Flixy
    yes, they've been talking about this for quite some time now. And yes, I'm quite sure Jane wouldn't be thrilled by the whole thing :))) She would probably faint like one of her female characters :)

    @Kristin

    @Arlee

  12. wow. P&P&Z. I guess that makes sense. It did start the whole classics v. monsters craze. Garden of Eden, ay... hmm. ;p

  13. yep, Leigh, as if we didn't have enough craze with all the vampires, now the zombies strike too :)

  14. I love zombies....
    BUT I must admit that I suspect they're about to jump the shark. This new film could be the tipping point.

  15. oh, yes, and vampires are also close to their tipping point. Hopefully :)

  16. I tried to read the P&P&Z novel but I just couldn't get into it. Warrior's Way looks great though

  17. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies eh, I don't know what to make of this development. And I wonder what that Warrior's Way will be like. Interesting.

  18. I really hope that they give the main role for P&P&Z to Natalie Portman, but then again I'm biased :P

    Warrior's way looks kinda fun, but the eastern meets western thing has been done so I'm not sure what to make of it. Likely a DVD movie rather than a cinema one for me.

    I have a feeling it would be the same case with me

    @Bryan
    it is quite a puzzling project :)

    @Jamie
    eh, if Hollywood would ask you, Portman would star in pretty much all the movies :)
