CHRIS HEMSWORTH'S THOR ON "EMPIRE'S" COVER. FOX TO MAKE "ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER". AMY ADAMS IN NEW "MUPPETS" & "WE BOUGHT A ZOO". WARNER TO MAKE A FILM ON "GALVESTON" HURRICANE DISASTER

Check out the November issue of EMPIRE with hunky Chris Hemsworth as THOR. The premiere of this mega-adaptation of the famous comic about the powerful warrior who has to save the Earth from the darkest forces of Asgard, is set for May 2011 and
also stars Anthony Hopkins, Samuel L. Jackson, Kat Dennings, Stellan SkarsgÄrd, Ray Stevenson, Jaimie Alexander... and is directed by our dear Kenneth Branagh.

Warner Bros. will make a movie about GALVESTON, the Texas town which was hit by the deadliest natural disaster in American history back in 1900. A huge hurricane took thousands of lives destroying the city where vacationing businessmen
mingled with locals of all social classes. The film will center on a number of love stories in the middle of the disaster.

Fox will make a film out of novel ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER helmed by Timur Bekmambetov. The $69 million budget film will center on Abraham Lincoln whose mother gets killed by a vampire so he sets out on a path of vengeance that will lead him all the way to the White House. While saving the Union and freeing millions of slaves he also leads valiant fight against the forces of the undead.

Lovely Amy Adams (JULIE AND JULIA, ENCHANTED, DOUBT) might appear in a bunch of new projects. She will probably take a role in THE GREATEST MUPPET MOVIE EVER MADE, she will also star in Cameron Crowe's WE BOUGHT A ZOO a film about a family who bought a rundown mansion in the English countryside which included the 30-acre Wildlife Park, home to
over 200 animals. She could also join Chris Pine in WELCOME TO PEOPLE, a story of a man who, after flying home to LA for the funeral of his estranged father, discovers that the will stipulates he must deliver $150,000 in cash to a 30-year-old alcoholic sister he never knew existed, and her troubled 12-year-old son.

PS if you wanna see some new book covers of some of the books I've translated, head over to our dear Vic at HAIRNETS AND HOPES who is hosting a fun little game for you.

  1. Cast Liam Neeson, who was rumored to play Lincoln in a Steven Spielberg-directed biopic but recently bowed out, in LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER. Perhaps Neeson can scratch his recent action itch and his Lincoln itch with the same film :)

  2. I don't remember hearing this stuff about Abraham Lincoln when I was in school. I think they just made this story up.

  3. I have been to Galveston. I forget how many died in the hurricane but it was supposed to have been worse then Katrina. It will be interesting how much history the movie promotes.

    Abraham and Vampires....what a combo...wonder if the mass of Native Americans he hung will be the vampires?

  7. Pretty stoked for Thor, it looks good. Vampire Hunter sounds like it could be a good watch. It almost sounds like it should be a comedy cuz of the alternate history thing. That would make it awesome.

  8. You forgot to mention that Natalie Portman is in the cast of Thor.

  9. Hi DEZMOND - I really want to read both of Seth Grahame-Smith's books. I've heard they're great! Amy Adams is a beauty.

    oh, I've heard quite a lot of people around the net who want Neeson in this role

    @Arlee
    what??? The story about vampires is false???? :))

    @Avalon
    oh, he has Indian blood on his hands? Horrible. Many people have covered their way up to the highest levels of power with corpses and tears of other people :(((

  15. A big HUH? about Abe Lincoln and vampires. People really bought the book? And Fox is filming it? So random that I'm compelled to check it out.

    THANK YOU for the Amy Adams update! From her dainty sky-pointing pinkies in Enchanted to Sunshine Cleaning to everything she does, Amy Adams embodies whoever she's supposed to be.

    @Vics
    yes, as if we don't have enough bloodsuckers all around us :)

  18. Oh yes, I would be typing half the day, if I wrote about all the innocent blood on his hands. But I would rather you have a happy day because I know you are much like me and even though it happened years ago, the retelling of massacres effect me deeply.
    And yes Dezmond....there is no escaping the era of vamps:)

  19. I'm sorry...were you making a point? I got lost in the Amy Adams.

  20. @Avalon
    the sad thing is that I know, since my people share the same pain with yours, how it hurts, maybe even more than the bloody wounds themselves, that the very same villains are today glorified and sanctified. As if the evil things have never happened ... Kinda like being raped again after the rape itself.

    @MJ
    well, the pic was the point :) which means you didn't miss it.

  21. I can't wait for Thor! It looks epic! It'd be interesting to see how they pull off Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I've not see much alternate history stuff like this done, so it'll be one to keep an eye out for.

  22. Well, it's gotta be epic when it's helmed by our Kenneth Branagh :)
