GEORGE CLOONEY AS SINATRA AND ANGELINA JOLIE AS MARILYN MONRO IN A NEW MOVIE. ROSE BYRNE IS MOIRA MACTAGGERT IN "X-MEN: FIRST CLASS"

Now this is an odd couple: according to "MovieWeb" George Clooney will play Frank Sinatra while Angelina Jolie will portray Marilyn Monroe in "The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and of His Friend, Marilyn Monroe". Now, if that wasn't crazy enough for you listen to this: the film will be a biography of Marilyn Monroe, but told through the eyes of a Maltese poodle named Mafia Honey a.k.a. Maf, who was given to Monroe as a present by Sinatra. I'm speechless.

I'm probably getting boring with "X-Men: First Class" casting process, but it's the boring beginning of the week in the world of film news :) and they have new actors again: beautiful Rose Byrne ("Troy", "Sunshine", "Star Wars") will play Moira MacTaggert, a scientist and an authority on genetic mutation and also the love interest of the mutant telepath professor Charles Xavier played by James McAvoy. Another new actor in the cast is Oliver Platt who will play a mysterious role of The Man in Black and he will not be a mutant.

  1. I wonder if Oliver Platt will play Victor Creed. Or whichever Creed it was that was hunting mutants and NOT Sabretooth.

  2. That Maf idea was just stupid :)
    But both Jolie and Clooney have denied the rumor. Jolie is adamant she's not a part of the project and hadn't even heard about it when I interviewed her currently.
    She says, "I've just heard that for the first time. No (it's not true)... if I only just heard it!"
    Clooney is not involved with the picture either - his representative tell the reports are "totally fabricated".

  3. That does sound very strange, but doesn't necessarily mean it will be great or terrible.

  4. I enjoy biopics about celebrities of the past and Marilyn and Sinatra are good topics. But through the eyes of a dog? Sounds like a dumb gimmick that could get annoying pretty quickly.

  5. DEZMOND - You have to be totally joking on this, just to see if we're paying attention?? No way they would actually tell the story from the POV of the dog. Please say it isn't so??? =D

    the story is strange, but it will be an adaptation of a novel of the same tittle :) so might read it before the movie comes out (if it comes out) :)

    @Arlee
    yep, it could be a total trash or it could be ingenious :)

  8. At one point I would have remembered that it was Graydon Creed without having to think on it too much.

    These days, I wrack my brains trying to remember we tiny bits of info about characters I knew inside and out over a decade ago. :D

  10. Well, Angelina better gain some weight if she's going to play Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn was much curvier and sexier. Angelina used to be like that. Not anymore.

  11. I believe she was always skin and bones, but just has big lips so she looks sensual :)

  12. strange in the extreme! i don't know if it's creative or just grasping... we'll see.

  13. Finally a character (Moira) in that movie (X-Men first class) that I believe fill have a "speaking" part. At least she should. She was important to Xavier, and he is the main character in this film (I guess).

    So many other characters... Most of them will have a screen time between 15 to 90 seconds.

    yes, we shall see, after all it is a novel :)

    @Bels
    hey, Bels, maybe even you and I have enough time to jump into some tight latex suits and get a second or two in the film :) We won't even demand dialogues :)

  15. We could. :) They would probably put us in a crowd of other mutants. (There is so much of them in this film already.)
    That way (in a crowd) we would be able to hide our not so perfect figures (mine at least), while we are wearing revealing latex or spandex. :)

  16. hell no, if we are to reveal our (non)gorgeousness to the world by wearing latex suits we should settle only for lead roles or at least for a background spot in the official poster :))) After all my figure is already mutagen so they wouldn't need to make any special costume additions :))

  17. i am totally intrigued by clooney and jolie playing sinatra and monroe. and then the point of view. if both actors give good performances, well then, it might not be a total ripoff:) seriously, it sounds fun.
