CALEB LANDRY JONES IS BANSHEE, NICHOLAS HOULT IS BEAST AND LUCAS TILL IS HAVOK IN "X-MEN: FIRST CLASS"

"X-Men: First Class", the movie which has raised waves of rumors this summer, is about to begin with the shooting in August, and the casting process is continuing each new day. There are more and more updates about Aaron Johnson ("Kick-Ass") really getting the role of young Cyclops, and there are some rumors that Kevin Bacon has been offered a role of villain, but there are also some official casting news: young actor Caleb Landry Jones ("No Country For Men", "Social Network") will portray Banshee (an Irish mutant, which possesses a sonic scream, capable of harming enemies’ auditory systems and causing physical vibrations) in the film directed by Matthew Vaughn, while Nicholas Hoult ("About a Boy", "Clash of the Titans") will play Beast. There's also another new member to the mutant saga: young Lucas Till ("Walk the Line", "Hannah Montana") is negotiating to play Havok who is actually the younger brother of Cyclops. If these news prove to be right, the young actors will join James McAvoy as Professor X and Michael Fassbender as Magneto in "X-Men: First Class".

  1. Based on the way this casting is unfolding it looks like I'll have to put aside my conceptions about the X-men characters. But I don't particularly mind doing it if the film is in fact good.

  2. well, they are going to "teenagerize" :) the whole movie, so you should expect some seriously young (and unknown) actors. I also hope the story will be good. If it's not it might kill the whole saga forever.

  3. I'm not familiar with any of these actors but I have to say at first glance I'm not impressed with any of their "look". I'll reserve judgment since I do love the franchise.

  4. Matthew it's not strange you're not familiar with them when they are mostly unknown, although you've probably seen Hoult before (he has very captivating eyes) and young Till (in teen movies). I kinda like all three of them in these roles, and I just hope the story will be right.

  6. yep, both Till and Hoult are quite expressive young actors who can show the needed emotions in their roles. I've never seen Landry Jones before, so I can't speak about him.

  10. The last X-Men film wasn't great, but I'll still go see this one.
And the actors look so young. Or am I just getting old?

  12. Xmen First class.. ok so wheres The Angel... wheres Bobby Drake... see the problem with changing a story that people love is that you change the original recipe.. and people will hate it ... Changing this story is like changing The Colonels Recipe... healthy... ok tastin...but Id rather have McDonalds...AND I HOPE YOU DONT GIVE THE BEAST HAIR, cos that will say to me that you didnt even read the F'in comic...

  13. hey, Kenneth, welcome to HOLLYWOOD SPY :)
Well, the fact is that movies based on comics aren't really made for comic fans, but for wider audience and the wider audience doesn't really care much about all the details from the original material. And to be honest, you know that fans will always hate comic book film adaptations, so you just can satisfy them :))
