SERBIAN SF BLOCKBUSTER "TECHNOTISE" GETTING A LIVE ACTION REMAKE IN HOLLYWOOD

Serbian animated blockbuster "Technotise" by Alexa Gajic will get a sf live-action remake by Legendary Pictures, and screenwriter Laeta Kalogridis ("Avatar", "Pathfinder", "Alexander", "Battle Angel Alita") is already set to adapt it. Serbian animated movie, "Technotise: Edit and I" was set in the Serbian capital Belgrade in the year 2074, following a story of a failing art student who decides to get a chip implant to circumvent studying but gets more than she bargained for. "Technotise" was quite popular here in Serbia a few years ago, and Edit, the main character, even became a symbol of the famous European music festival "Exit" held each year in Vojvodina. Check out the trailer of the animated original.

  1. Shame we'll never see the original. It has a quaint Japanese-anime style to it.

  3. Unfortunately, I've never heard of "Technotise", but I was impressed by the trailer :) "Serbian manga" is worthy competition for Japanese anime! :) Oh, and its Hollywood remake is a big thing, right? :)

Nebster, what were some of the more popular Bulgarian movies in recent few years? I'd like to check out their trailers over at YouTube.

  5. The most popular Bulgarian move ever was this year's "Mission London"! In fact, it made more money than "Avatar" did(Approximately 2.4 million levs /1.3 million euros/) ! Huge blockbuster! Haven't seen it, but I liked the trailer a lot. It was actually the first Bulgarian trailer that had this Hollywood feel to it and didn't look like an amateurish cheap production. You'll find the link for the trailer below:)

not my kind of film, but it seems extremely hilarious judging from the trailer :)) Hope queen Elizabeth will never see it :PPP This movie would do well in Serbian cinemas as well.

  8. I liked Technotise. It was a little weird, but I liked it anyway. :)
I hope that they keep some of the humor in this remake. I wouldn't want it be just another SF-cyber thriller.

  9. It would be nice if they keep the humor, but somehow I think they will focus on sf and action.
