RICHARD ARMITAGE IS YOUR FAVOURITE TV HUNK. NEW POLL: THE HOTTEST VIXEN!

Your Favourite TV Hunk poll part two is officially over with the record breaking number of almost 1800 votes! The army of Richard Armitage's fans has bravely won the battle proclaiming the British actor the winner with 1473 votes (83%), and leaving the brave gladiator Andy Whitfield on the second place with 236 votes (13%). Nathan Fillion won the 3rd spot with just 20 votes.
Now, since I don't know much about Richard, and since he couldn't be here himself to accept the tittle, he has sent us Nat, the high priestess of his fan-temple (and we suspect his secret paramour as well ^_^), to give us a speech about him, and this is what Nat told us: "Richard Armitage is a 38 year-old British actor whose popularity is spreading across the world thanks to his acting talent and gorgeous good looks that just get better with age. He is most famous for his roles in British TV, such as: John Thornton, the brooding, cravat-wearing cotton mill owner in the BBC mini series, "North & South", Sir Guy of Gisborne, the Sheriff's dark and jaded side-kick in the BBC series "Robin Hood", Harry Kennedy, the adorable and sweet love interest in the comedy series "The Vicar of Dibley", Lucas North, the tattoo-covered government agent with a troubled past in "Spooks", and most recently, John Porter~ the ass-kicking, gun slinging military man in Sky1's "Strike Back". He has also appeared in many British films. In respect to Richard's very loyal fan base, there's no real explanation for Armitage Syndrome. One minute, a person will be minding their own business, then the next, they've tuned in to see "North & South" or "Robin Hood" and *BAM!* they're hooked on Richard and must see everything he's ever done. Warning: it could happen to you (And you will probably enjoy it and in the process, make a lot of online friends who can relate!)"

And now off to our next poll. I feel I have to do something for the guys this time, so our next poll will most definitely be a feast for their eyes (and other sensitive body parts): who is THE HOTTEST VIXEN - is it Brazil/Serbia's own Adriana Lima, Nordic bomb Victoria Silvstedt, blond beauty Doutzen Kroes, Slav angel Karolina Kurkova, sensual Josie Marran, steamy Carmen Electra, another Slav angel Joanna Krupa or the naughty Kelly Brooke? You can vote as much as you like next two weeks, and you may thank me as well for these pics :)

  1. If you take away the abs, "sexy" stare, chiseled features, and genes he's not much to look at... Honestly, might as well go for me. At least I'm cuddly!

Now for hottest vixen Carmen Electra would usually win my vote, but I do love me some Josie Maran.... so my vote shall I travel there.

  3. @Univarn
you realize you're risking your life by saying that in front of Armitage's fans who will now come and hack your site? :)
I figured you would vote for the only American girl in the list :)

    @Ed
Ed, you're not a nerd, I didn't know who Armitage was either, until Nat introduced me to him.
Be welcome :) I see you prefer blonds ;)

  4. All right - bring out the babes! I'll take one of each...

    ReplyDelete
  5. Spoken for us all, Nat. Did you mention that he is six foot two - a respectable height, after all...

    ReplyDelete
  6. To be honest Dez I hadn't a clue about any of their nationality. I mean I can guess the ones with 50 letters in their name aren't American, but that's about as far as my brain is willing to go.

    ReplyDelete
  7. YAY!!! RICHARD!! RICHARD!!! RICHARD!!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Thanks for being such a good sport about Richard's fans hijacking your poll. :)

    ReplyDelete
  9. PS: High priestess of fan temple and secret paramour? BAAAA-HAHAHA!!! Love it.

    ReplyDelete
  10. @Nat,

Now we have to have an account of what it's like to be the high priestess and especially the secret paramour. :D

@Dezmond, I love the poll, but you need a better picture of him. Not hat I don't love that one, but he is so much better looking even than that picture -- in my unbiased opinion. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  11. YAY Richard!! YAY!! This is one American that loves that man!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Thanks Dez for helping to spread the word about Richard Armitage! As amazing looking as he is, (and it's true the pictures don't do him justice), it is his unique acting talent that has hooked most of his fans, but we stay enthralled because of his real-life gentlemanly, kind and generous behaviour. He is a true STAR in every sense of the word.

  13. A crushing victory! The Armitage Army is one mighty force. Nice job, Nat!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Never seen him before.... my poor little McDreamy.... beat out by a "who-he?"

    ReplyDelete
  15. Go Richard :)Thanks Dez for the poll.

@ Kristin - He stole me from McDreamy - as Nat so truly said - one fine day I saw North and South and *thud* :D - sqee fest began :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Uhm...Richard Armitage has only been in two films. Most of his work has been on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Apparently, Kristin Rae needs an education in RA. ;-)

    @Kristin,

Even if you're not a period drama lover, you might well like North and South, and you can watch it here:

YouTube - North and South episode 1 part 1 http://bit.ly/9bM6Bp

or if you have Netflix, it's an instant play there. Just be sure you begin when you have four hours set aside because you will probably not be able to stop once you get past the first 15 minutes. You've been warned. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Anonymous, you're right... Richard has mostly worked in TV. Most of the British films featuring RA to I was referring have been made-for-TV movies, such as: The Impressionists, Miss Marie Lloyd, Sparkhouse, Cleopatra, North & South, etc. Hope that clears up my line of thought. :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Okay - voted for Kelly Brook: first class example of British womanhood.
But every time I vote in one of your polls my horse comes in last. Any chance you could pull a few strings this time, Dez?

    Vote for Kelly!

  22. I 'm just glad Richard won! He deserves far more important awards , I think. As an actor, not only as a dream man.
I'm sorry for the fans of the other participants who can't appreciate our man. Have you ever seen or listened to him acting? You should try. Why don't you start watching North and South (if you like period drama), Spooks 7/8 or Strike Back (if you prefer modern drama/ action movies)? It is not only a question of physical perfection, you must see him at work to understand.
    Thanks for having this poll!

  24. @all the girls who pray in Armitage's holy temple with Nat as the high priestess

Girls, I'm glad this poll made your day, and I hope Richard Armitage will be informed about your dedicated fight for his victory, hope we'll be seeing you here at HOLLYWOOD SPY after this as well :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. @Alex
it's a deal, Alex, the babes agree to share you among themselves :)))

    @Nat
we shall keep quiet about the money you gave us to keep the paparazzi photos of the high priestess performing a private ceremony only for Richard in secret ;P

    @Kristin
yep, I still don't know who he is, but he obviously has a bigger number of fans than China has citizens :)

    @Matty
I shall let you pull the strings off her yourself, I'm sure you will enjoy it more that way :))

    @Nebular
you do realize the life after this statement won't be the same for you? His fans will track you down and punish you dearly :))) I had to hire bodyguards because the girls didn't like the pics I've published of him, even though those were some hot pics :)

  27. yes, my dear naughty Nebster, but don't you think it's a bit impolite saying such things in front of the hundreds of girls who will read this and who obviously adore him? It would be as if somebody would trash me in front of you, wouldn't you go angry, wouldn't you get hurt, wouldn't you regard such people impolite? ^_^

  30. @ Nebular, to each their own, you don't have to agree with someone's taste or preference but there's really no need to trash the guy.

I don't belong to his fan site but I do admire his work. Richard's not only easy on the eyes but he's a pretty good actor, too. N&S is probably his best work I've seen so far, but he's got comedic chops in The Vicar of Dibley and makes a pretty good spy in Spooks.

I think he'd make a fantastic Robin Hood if they ever make a futuristic version of it, as I said here: http://wp.me/pxXPC-9X He totally rocked that bad ass leather getup as Guy of Gisbourne! :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Pax, Nebular! Mr. A's fans aren't offended by your views - only some might be, with how they're expressed. (some of us can be a bit -prudish? about language. Obviously a comment with "the language" was removed).

@Dezmond, thank you for the RA fan support. I did actually vote twice, then stopped to think, bad idea, let Mr. A stand or fall on his merits.

    Cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Everyone has different tastes and some may see talent where others do not. Thank goodness we are all different or the world would be a very dull place.

In my opinion, RA is handsome but it was his portrayal of certain characters that won me over.

Dezmond, just out of curiosity have you ever watched Spooks?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh I am sorry, I forgot to say - How can anyone pick just one from your recent poll? They are all so sexy, I cannot narrow it down to just one!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I wouldn't punish Nebular for expressing his/her honest opinion. I think half of the fellows on that poll are just semi-attractive. It's just a matter of personal taste.
BTW- I'm American. I voted Richard. I've seen Mr Armitage up close (in person).
To me - he is absolutely gorgeous and (more importantly), he seems like such a nice person. Very friendly.
And.......He has very loyal people who love to follow his career. That's a phenomenon in itself.

    Congratulations Richard!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm so glad he won, thanks Dez for including him in the poll :D

---One minute, a person will be minding their own business, then the next, they've tuned in to see "North & South" or "Robin Hood" and *BAM!* ---
    So totally true.

    OML :)

  36. Don't worry, Nebular... I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion and won't send cyber bullies after you. Well, maybe one or two, but the least scary of the bunch. ;)

Oh, and even though I don't know who Cheryl Cole is, I'm sure she's very ugly or something. Kidding! :)

    ReplyDelete

    @Fitzg
glad you've enjoyed the poll, and hope we'll be seeing you here often ;)

    @Avalon
no, Avalon, I didn't watch it, I've seen Armitage only in a few episodes of ROBIN HOOD and in some TV movie in which he was playing some painter I think.

  38. @Debra

    @high priestess Nat
what??? And what do you call those ten big gorillas you sent after me if not bullies :PPP Your charming little garden gnomes??? :)))

    ReplyDelete
  39. I know that not everyone will find Mr. Armitage as delectable as his fans do, but sometimes mere photos don't do a guy justice. Here's one of my favorite videos featuring him as Guy of Gisborne from BBC's Robin Hood:

    http://youtu.be/XVUIXqNUNDg

None of the guys on the list were ugly. I just happen to like Mr. Armitage a lot and he seems like a really nice guy too. But all the guys on that poll were very attractive and probably also nice people.

Everyone's entitled to their opinions, but I think it's kind of sad that someone has to be called "ugly" just because they're not someone's type. To me, "ugly" is something that should apply to an ugly personality or someone with really imbalanced, strange features AND an ugly personality. There's a difference between "ugly" and "not attractive to ME" and I wish more people would ponder on that difference before they use the word "ugly."

    ReplyDelete
  40. hey, Delicateblossom, welcome to HOLLYWOOD SPY, hope we'll be seeing you here often. And yes, beauty is within.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well said; "Beauty is within", this is a commendable statement as we live in a cold-heart society that tend to judge a person merely on looks. Treating people negatively is one of the paths to society's downfall, nothing good ever comes from demoralization. Recently in the news there were several stories of teenage suicide because of bullying and I can't help but wonder if those children would still be alive if someone had seen the beauty within, instead labeling them with antagonist and malicious names.

I admire Dezmond's respect and compassion for quality of life. Dezmond's posts and the way he represents and conducts himself reflect that he is a fair and just person.

Ok Dezmond, enough gushing over you….lol, I just thought delicateblossom and your statement was heart-felt.

    ReplyDelete
  42. amen to all that you've just said, dear Avalon.

And thank you for the beautiful and kind compliments ;)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Dezmond, that "painter thing" was a BBC production of The Impressionists. Beautiful film, more about the art, than about their characters. And I think, all we RA fans agree, not Mr. A at his most "hunk", I think is the word.

So, there we go. We like him for his craftful acting, too.

    Cheers

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm glad for this poll because it brought me to this site. I really like it, Dezmond. Keep up the good work! ;D

Keep up the good work. I'll be back!

  49. Uuups, I meant "ask" of course, not "aks". Sorry!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Nebular - you are male, so you don't understand ;D

    ReplyDelete
  51. For me Mr. A is charisma personified, but you won't tell that from those pictures above.
I am not girlish and my last FANatism was for Lewis Collins (aka William Bodie, CI 5 :-)) 28 years before, when I was 13.
Now I am hopelessly addicted to RA ;D
It all started when I watched Elizabeth Gaskell's North & South nearly 3 years ago. My husband stated, that John Thornton(RA) lets his voice waver and in an instant all females fall to their knees. I think, he is right.
Besides, everything he says is always so agreeable, my husband, that is ;-D.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Nebular, I looked up Cheryl Cole and unfortunately, she is not ugly. I bet she has an ugly pet or relative though, so there. :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. I loooove when Cheryl Cole sings her song PARACHUTE: here's the stunningly elegant video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AWoZmAxKxg

    ReplyDelete
  54. @nebular,

Hmmm. I'm getting the vibe you're just chicken to watch his stuff. ;-) Well, I can't say I blame you. He is powerful especially when he speaks -- as anonymous so aptly explained. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  55. @Nebular,

If you haven't got ovaries and/or are not attracted to men, you really shouldn't have a say in this. LOL. Apparently the appeal of Richard Armitage cannot translate over well with some straight men. So, based on that fact, I take away your vote on this one. ;-)

The fact is that Richard Armitage is considered a hottie in England (and by pockets of enlightened females in other parts of the world) and he currently is very busy at the moment getting lots and lots of work. Somehow I don't think the BBC, Sky, and other British networks are investing money in hiring an "ugly" man as their leading man. So maybe it's only *you* that is taste-impaired, and not everyone else! LOL.

There are a lot of hottie females that many men consider gorgeous (Jennifer Anniston, for one) that completely baffle me. I think she's *attractive* but I don't get the whole hottie thing that some people seem to see in her. But I'm not attracted to females, so I'm officially taking away my vote when it comes to her.

You can call whomever you want "ugly," and I can say that it's a shame when you do. If Richard Armitage (or Jennifer Anniston, for that matter) are what passes for "ugly" these days, then probably 95% of the human population is also ugly. Which I think would be sad.

    ReplyDelete
  56. DEZ, you're a doll for adding Richard to the poll and for sticking up for us crazy fans. He's certainly my favorite TV hunk, but I'll admit it could be because he's the whole package, not just a pretty face.

thanks, much appreciated, Little Vics :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. @nebular - I said from the beginning that saying someone wasn't attractive (to you personally) was very different than saying they were "ugly." I have no quarrel with different people finding different qualities attractive.

I agree, it's a matter of taste. But I was *you* who told all of us that us voting for a certain guy showed a (and I'll quote) "lack of taste."

LOL, I didn't realize that it was a revolutionary concept that people who are attracted to a particular sex will view them differently than those who are not attracted to that sex. Who knew?

I don't expect to convince you that any particular person is attractive, but I'll say again--it's a shame that the word "ugly" is used so liberally sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  60. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  61. @ Nebular

Saying that you have a different taste than others does not offend anyone here. Telling others that THEY have bad taste because it's different than yours will at least be cause for some additional conversation, regardless of what is being talked about. Surely this cannot come as a surprise to you? (And BTW, if you'd said that Jennifer Anniston was "ugly" and that anyone who thought the opposite had a "lack of taste," I'd probably be having a very similar conversation with you!)

We're talking about "hotties" here, and usually that *means* something more to those who find the hottie sexually attractive. So here we have some straight guy telling a lot of straight women that they have a "lack of taste" for finding a particular guy attractive. I guess I find that a little bit amusing! LOL.

But we've argued about this long enough and I'm sure Dez wants his blog back. So WHATEVER dude! Anyone whose opinion differs with yours (when it comes to what is pretty or attractive) *obviously* has bad taste! LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  62. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  63. LOL, dude, I don't know why *you're* still posting your verbose comments here. After all, you should be happy. I'm willing to end this conversation by saying that any of us who find a particular guy attractive have bad taste if that taste does not coincide with yours. That does seem to be what you're saying to all of us, after all. What more can you ask for? ;D

    ReplyDelete
  64. @Nebular
I've sent you that e-mail two times already on your @mail.bg address, but after reading these comments, and especially the last you've written here, I just don't have the strength to do it the third time. 71. RICHARD!!! YOU ARE THE ONE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. What a shame that comments made in good fun were taken as an argument. There's not nearly enough lightheartedness in the world.

    @Nebular,

I hope you know we're all teasing. Sorry if it might not have appeared that way. But I don't think any of the Richard fans meant anything seriously. I know I didn't, and I also know the Richard fans would have been very gracious losers to someone else.

If you ever read Natalie's blog, you know that most of what's said is done all in fun, and DEZMOND is one of the biggest teasers. :D

I would find it extremely silly and not worth the time to speak to these other Richard fans if they seriously thought we had to defend Richard Armitage.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I too am sad to see Dezmond's happy world clouded with silly debates, especially on the beloved RA post.:) He and I love to tease each other, but it's all in good fun. I hope all of my RA-voting buddies will continue to visit this blog and enjoy the Hollywood updates along with Dezmond's funny tid-bits.
And Nebular, if you read this, I hope you know that my comments to you were in jest. I'm sad to think that you'd dismiss your friendship with the lovely Dezz over something like this. Let's all just hug and make up. :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. @Nat

In one of my previous comments I said some really nice things about you, such as I truly admire your wit and intelligence. :) You probably haven't read it, since I deleted all my comments for good. Don't know if you actually care that I like you, nevertheless I wanted you to know that :) And, yes, I know your comments were just in jest and I mentioned that in my comment earlier ;) You seem such a sweet and smart girl. I mean it :)

Although we're very close with Dezz, he decided to judge me instead to try to understand me and to stay behind me.

He just stood there watching us 'fighting', doing nothing, except being vexed at me. He said he was hurt, he couldn't take it anymore, he stopped responding to my comments, stopped talking to me, he called me things I'm not... and all that made me think that he prefered to be on the side of someone who's a stranger, instead of being on my side. I wasn't the only one who was naughty during this silly argument, but it turned out, I was the bad guy. Now, after all that I dislike Richard even more :) I'm just joking :)

I don't know, may be someday me and Dezz will rebuild our damaged friendship...

    ReplyDelete
  75. Neb, what kind of "fighting" are you talking about? You can read all the comments these girls have left and you will see they were all light, humorous and not at all mean. Nobody said anything bad to you, they were all leading an elegant and polite debate with you, even though at the very beginning you have used a very negative language in expressing your opinion. So to repeat it again - neither me nor these ladies had anything against you having an opinion and expressing it, we just thought the way you did it was impolite. You didn't just say OH, OK, I DON'T FIND THIS ACTOR ATTRACTIVE, AND I'M SORRY HE WON THE POLL, but you said HE'S UGLY, THIS IS RIDICULOUS, YOU MAKE ME LAUGH ... I told you I didn't like such manner of behavior.
And even though I kindly begged you not to be negative here, because you of all know the essence of my being and you know what's my goal in life, you still decided to spread negativity here instead of just taking the debate with ladies humorously like a true sport, and the problematic comment that you have left was this one (I'm quoting what you've said to Delicateblossom:

"LOL. If you're so verbose and so cliched! LOL. I'm really tired of reading your endlessly long shallow comments. Please, stop! Go turn your TV and wait for your lovely Richard to appear on screen and enjoy him... LOL! :) You obviously have bad taste. LOL. Truth always hurts, delicateblossom. LOL. LOL... "

As I've already told you I needed a break to recover because I was shocked by this comment, by the way you've composed it with all of those vicious LOLs, it just wasn't the charming, beautiful and witty Neb I grew to love in the past year. And then your reaction on my shock was just to erase all the comments you ever written here, to erase me from your blog, to basically erase me from your life .... so don't talk about not having my support or being unjust to you - you know in the bottom of your heart that you always had my support, love and positive vibes above anyone's else.

    ReplyDelete
  76. @DEZMOND,

As I said earlier, I already read your blog, and I won't stop.

And I love it when you tease. It seems I remember something about a suit. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  77. It turned out I'm not as charming and witty as you think, so please erase me from your blog too.
I'm as much disappointed in you as you are in me. This "break to recover" thing I found to be way over dramatic and unnecessary. Not responding to my comments was more childish than all the things I said about Richard and to his fans. If you have something to say to me, say it in private. And don't say to me how impolite I'm while watching the whole 'show' without taking a position. I thought you even enjoyed it, hidden behind the mask of your silence. You could have said: "OK, guys, stop with this silly arguing. You like Richard and he is not".. or something like that. Thinking of support from a friend, I imagine something else than what you did. And definitely not all the comments were light and humorous.. those from Nat and RAFrenzy yes, but those that came from delicate-turned-naughty blossom, not that much. Just have fun with your new friends and RA fans and leave me alone, please.
P.S. Please, Dezmond, stop faking reality. Being overly positive won't help you escape from it. Much more is needed! All this 'positive vibes' thing just started to look a bit artificial to me. NO OFFENSE! I promise to remember only good things that we have said and done to each other. This is the appropriate moment to thank you in public about making this beautiful banner for me! Much appreciated!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Nat, RAFrenzy, Blossom, I have nothing against you girls! Don't hate me for not liking RA! I just don't and I can't help it! :) I'm very impulsive, expansive and temperamental, which in situations like this make me look naughty, even rude. Well, like it or not, that's who I am. I apologize to those who feel offended. Wish you all the best, girls! I'm out!

    ReplyDelete

  82. Ford god's sake, this is the man who won? I don't even know who he is. Definitely Andy Whitfield should have won as he is a thousand times better-looking and sexier.

  83. Richard would hate to see people fighting about this. He himself says he doesn't like his looks. Of course, his modesty is one of the things I like best about him. Along with talent, intelligence, hard work and a generous spirit.

  87. For me, "sexy" isn't just about a great body and a cute smile, it's about having charisma, intelligence and desireability. If Richard Armitage was simply a hunky guy with acting talent, but nothing to say for himself or little regard for his fans then he would not inspire the loyalty and devotion that he does, IMHO.

As someone else has said, you have to really check out his work. If you only go by a few photos, then you're only getting a fraction of the picture! And read his interviews too - this is a thoughtful modest man who works very hard to do his best and on top of that he has a great sense of humour! Sexy men always make me laugh :-)

  88. WOW - what a bun fight!

But I'm glad that Rich won the poll.

Maybe he will be better known in the US in the future - there's a rumour he is cast in Captain America!
