FIRST PICTURE OF CHRIS HEMSWORTH AS THOR

After yesterday's unofficial photo of The Destroyer from Kenneth Branagh's upcoming super hero blockbuster, today we have the first exclusive and official photo of Thor himself. Check out charismatic Chris Hemsworth as the Norse God. Premiering May 6th, 2011 "Thor" stars Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Kat Dennings, Stellan SkarsgÄrd, Ray Stevenson, Natalie Portman, Samuel L. Jackson and Jaimie Alexander.
What do you think? As far as I can see around the Net, the fans are getting hyped over the adaptation, and everybody likes the first pictures of The Destroyer and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. I'm not sure, but I think the studio has decided to quickly release this first picture of Thor in order to cover up yesterday's leaked picture of Destroyer.

  1. This looks pretty cool. When you say it's Kenneth's film do you mean he's directing? Producing?

  5. I really hope costume doesn't look like this in final cut. :(

I don't mind the design, but it's made of some kind of plastic material. Worst of all, it's not even supposed to stand for spandex and tights superheroes usually wear. You can clearly see his sleeve was supposed to be a chain-mail, and yet, you can clearly see it's not metal at all, but some plastic. Same could be said about those big buttons (three on left side, and three on his right, not seen on this picture).

Hopefully, they made it like this so Chris could perform more comfortably, and that they plan to alter/perfect it with CGI later.
    Otherwise it will look silly.

  6. I'm not sure if we can judge the quality of the costume from these few inches they've shown us in this picture. I actually like those sleeves, very lizardy :)

  7. I'm not blind. It doesn't matter if it's few inches or few meters. We cannot deny what's right in front of our eyes.
They made the decision to clothe him in plastic suit, and to try to pass it as one made of metal.
They deserve to be scorned for such a cheep attempt to trick us. (I still hope this will be corrected in the end.)

And I like sleeve pattern too, but not if it imitates chain-mail on fictional Norse God. :))

Thor may be proud and from a different time/place, but he's not impractical. He could wear something like traditional superhero spadex. He just wouldn't stoop so low to dress himself in chain-mail imitation, made of plastic.
