Here's the second, much longer, trailer for Ridley Scott's "Robin Hood", which reveals much more of the movie than the previous one. I still find this movie somehow poor, boring, colourless and visionless. I hope it's just the trailer, but none of the scenes have taken my breath away so far. But you can still check out the trailer at least to see the scene in which Cate Blanchett threatens to severe Russell Crow's manhood :)) The film is out May 14th.
It does have Ridley Scott going for it. Of course, about the only thing Kevin Costner ever did that was really good was Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, which had a great supporting cast. Had great humor, too. Be tough to beat. And how are they going to top that film's King Richard?
I'm surprised a Ridley Scott action / period drama is actually rated PG-13, after Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven (two of my favorite films) I was hoping for something similar with Robin Hood, in terms of R-rated action.
I guess they now have their prince John instead of Richard :) Answer, I also like KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, although I never seem to be able to explain why exactly since I don't think Orlando is a great actor and plus I can't stand Eva Green, but there was some strange melancholy in the atmosphere which made me like the movie.
I'll just pretend you didn't say you "can't stand" my favorite actress. And the dislike of Orlando Bloom seems to be a trend, personally I like the guy I think he's done a good job in most of his roles.
No, Naomi Watts is one of my favorite actresses, but not my favorite, she'd probably be low on my favorite list. And I've never said anything about Dushku, she's hot but I've never made any comments on her acting ability.
Wow this is the best trailer yet. For some reason it keeps cutting off midway, maybe it is my service. I am glad to see Cate (Marian) as a fighter instead of a pampered maiden.
I think Ridley Scott did a good job as director of this movie. But I just don't see Russell Crow as Robin Hood. Even more so than Kevin Kostner before him.

ReplyDeleteit's not that I dislike him, I just never seen him doing an impressive role :) I've thought your favourite actresses are Naomi and Dushku :)

ReplyDeleteAvalon, I'm also glad that this trailer gave us much more of Blanchett!
