SECOND TRAILER AND A LOVELY POSTER FOR "PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME"
Here's the second trailer and the most beautiful Russian poster for one of my most anticipated movies this year "Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time". The new trailer reveals a lot of scenes which weren't seen in the first trailer. As you know the film is set in Persia where a nefarious nobleman covets the Sands of Time, a legendary gift from the gods that allows its possessor to turn back time. Whoever owns the Sands of Time has the power to rule the world, and this villainous lord would use that power to enslave all of humanity. The only person capable of defeating this tyrant and saving the world is Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal), a youthful prince. Now, with princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) by his side, Dastan will attempt to prevent the Sands of Time from falling into the wrong hands.
so excited to see it.
ReplyDeleteto see it or to see Jake, Falen? :))
ReplyDeleteI like the long hair on Jake.
ReplyDeleteLOL to actually see the movie, since i'm a Huge fan of the games. I don't dislike Jake, but he's not typically my cup o' tea, if you get my drift... ;)
ReplyDeleteEver since I heard Jake Gyllenhaal was cast in the main role I lost all excitement and interest in this film. He simply makes the trailer and the film look unbelievably campy.
ReplyDeleteYep, Nat, the hair does look good on him.
ReplyDeleteYep, Falen, I totally get your drift :)
Yep, Answer I totally understand you, although if you ask me personally, nothing can stop me from enjoying my favourite genre and that's exotic adventure, not even totally unsuitable Jake and uncharismatic Gemma and the most overrated actor ever Ben Kingsley :)
Normally I find Jake Gyllenhaal very talented, but I have to agree with Answer on this one--he makes it campy.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Persia=Iran. I know it has been a crossroads of tribes and ethnicities for centuries, but what is with the British accent and the Swedish-heritage actor? I am not familiar with the games, as son refer to here, but I don't buy this as a true testament to Persian culture.
But maybe it's not supposed to be. Great special effects, sex and legend...Sounds worth viewing.

Well, this looks half decent. Practically no chance I see it in theater but it might be worth a rent :)
ReplyDeletewell, Iguess this is Disney's view of Persia, and we all know how Disney sees the rest of the world and exotic cultures.
ReplyDeleteLooks great
ReplyDeleteLong trailer, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd why is it movie posters outside of the USA tend to be cooler?
(You should see the wicked Japanese poster I have for Darkman.)
The only thing I don't like about this movie so far is that it has too much sand, and too little water and plant life.
ReplyDeleteBut, I guess it couldn't be helped. :))
Alex, that's because here in Europe we are more into art, fairy tales, romantic stories, and thus we like more imaginative, warm, vivid and colourful posters. That's why adventures and epics are always much more popular outside the USA than inside the country, while action movies, war movies and crime films are more popular in the USA.
ReplyDeleteMarko, you old grumpy man :) I knew you would manage to find a problem even in a grain of sand :PPPP
Or a whole lot of grains of sand... :)))
ReplyDeleteeh, sta bi ti radio da zivis u Subotickoj ili DeliblaCkoj pescari :))
