TAYLOR SWIFT TO PLAY THE NEW SUPERGIRL???
Believe it or not, but that's what one of the hottest gossips says - country cutie Taylor Swift might play Supergirl, aka Kryptonian Kara Zor-El, in the possible remake which currently has a very scary tittle: "Supergirl: The Love Story". Despite having only one movie role in her CV so far (she plays the love interest of another Taylor, but this time Lautner, in the upcoming star studded romance "Valentine's Day")she is currently occupying number one spot on the list of young actresses currently being considered for the role. One of the insiders has revealed recently: "A number of young stars are being mentioned for the title role in a 'Supergirl' movie and possible TV spin-off and Taylor is on top of that list. She has all the right elements to be a positive role model to young girls."
The original film from the '80s, starred Helen Slater in the supergirl costume. The critics hated it and the public ignored it massively, but Hollywood is short of female heroes and this particular one could be appealing to female viewers. What do you think about this? Do we need it? Can Taylor do it? Will Kanye play the villain? :))
I don't believe this. I won't believe this. Taylor Swift needs to go away, I'm tired of hearing about her. And putting her in the role of Supergirl would make the Catwoman movie look like Oscar material. If anyone should play Supergirl it should be that girl who played her on Smallville.
ReplyDeleteI do not know much about these teenyboppers as they only last awhile before being replaced. As for being a positive role model that is great but the sad truth is they usually do not hold the title long before they go and pull a Brittany Spears. If she can act, more power to her.
ReplyDeleteCall me prejudiced but I can't imagine Taylor Swift being a great actress. Whenever I see her in public or performing she looks very nervous but then... I suppose she might just be keeping a watchful eye out in case Kanye is in the front row!
ReplyDeleteThe subtitle makes me very nervous about the quality and direction of the remake. I used to have the '80s one on VHS when I was young. It was rubbish but in a good way if you know what I mean?!
Ah, fortunately for all of you, this is all just a rumor and we all know how many rumors actually turn out to be true in the end :))
ReplyDeleteI don't know whether she can act, although I think this is the kind of movie which doesn't really require serious acting skills.
Yes, I know what you mean, back in the 80's we loved a lot of bad movies, cheesiness was quite charming back then:)))
I've seen her in interview and she is very charming but I don't know if she would be a good super girl or not. I would like to some poor waitress/actress get a break. It's my wish for Christmas. Every happiness to you and yours this season and the year through.
ReplyDeleteWarmest regards,
Simone.
I would also like for some poor waiter or actor to get a break :))
ReplyDeleteWishing you warm and cozy holidays as well, Simone .... :)
Can't these young stars just stick to one job? They all wanna be actresses! And sorry, I'm gonna get a backlash here, but I think Swift is extremely overrated.
ReplyDeleteBleach Megan Fox's hair blonde and there's your Supergirl. Fox may not be all that talented but I guarantee physically she fits the role better (Swift is a tall skinny girl) and is probably a lot better actress. Or stick with Smallville's Laura Vandervoort she's already done the role.
ReplyDeleteI must agree that, although cute and lovely, Taylor is overrated when it comes to her music (just like most other teen stars are from Britney to Jonas Brothers).
ReplyDeleteAnd as far as I get it, this isn't just about the looks, but about finding someone who has angelic and positive image, and can be a good role model, someone who doesn't play with drugs, sex and scandals, and I don't think Megan Fox is anywhere near that description :)
I guess I was one of the rare people who didn't find anything so bad with original Supergirl movie. I even found it better than most of Superman films. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know who Taylor is, but it's usually a bad thing when musicians start acting. Start young, that is.
Timberlake is one of the exceptions in recent years, but I don't have the same faith in this girl. Maybe she should work some more in film industry before accepting this role.
why am I not surprised that you haven't heard about Taylor? :PPPP I generally agree, but as I said we are not talking here about some profound dramatic role or a serious super hero, as far as I remember miss Slater from SUPERGIRL original movie, was also quite bad as actress, and that was the point of her role - to give an impression of innocence and gullibility :)
ReplyDeleteI would've liked that! She looks super. Now all they would've needed was a good script.
ReplyDeletetis not a bad idea
