"STAR TREK 2" MIGHT START SHOOTING NEXT YEAR SAYS ZOE SALDANA

According to MTV who recently spoke with actress Zoe Saldana ("Star Trek", "Avatar") the highly-anticipated sequel "Star Trek 2" will begin its development next year. There is no official news about the precise start of shooting, but according to Zoe, it seems the script is under work:
"I spoke to J.J. and Bryan Burk, his producing partner at Bad Robot, and they are still in the middle of building the script with Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, and we'll probably be going into pre-production around this time next year."
What do you say, are you anxious to see the new adventures of the U.S.S. ENTERPRISE? This year's STAR TREK was not only one of the most successful blockbusters but also one of the most lovable movies among the moviegoing audience.

  1. I can't wait, there's a lot of hype to live up to, hope they can handle it alright :).

  2. Yes, they should do it only if they have a good script and not just to make another sequel in order to cash in more money.
Hope all of the cast members will appear in the sequel as well, since I've never seen a better chemistry between actors and a better character development than in this movie.

  3. I hope William Shatner gets a role in this one. Since they've gone alternate reality they could easily bring in old Kirk, or even just give him another role.

  4. I will disagree with you on this one, Anwer. I think that William Shatner has used quite enough time and opportunity in the old sequels, and now it really is time to free the spotlight for some young stars. I know that he didn't do anything in his career beside this role, but that really isn't a good enough excuse to bring him back - after all this is a new era and a new era deserves new people.
I'm not even sure why they put Spock in this year's STAR TREK.

  5. They used original Spock because of brand recognition. That, and so nobody could say that this new movie isn't "real" Star Trek.

  6. I guess I'm a new generation :) For me STAR TREK is Janeway's and Piccard's crew :)

  7. You are giving away your age, Dezz.

I grew up watching Captain Kirk and Spock generation. I enjoy seeing them, but I think that you are right that the movies should now be about the new younger generation. I look forward to it.

  8. :))) my age is written here in my profile, so I'm not hiding it :)) But it is true that I'm more attached to NEW and NEXT GENERATION, VOYAGER and ENTERPRISE than to the original series, since I grew up with the series from the late 80's, 90's and 2000's :) Do you have your favourite STAR TREK series, Alan?

  9. I enjoyed the stories and simplicity of the original series, but admit I like Captain Picard's character the best.

  10. :) I think he had the best crew - Deana Troy (my favourite character in all the Star Treks), Riker, Worf, Data, Jordie and amazing Tasha Yar ... you can't beat such a team :)

  11. Sorry, but Star Trek was ruined by Abrams. I and a lot of my friends are Trekkies and we all pretty much agree that the new movies are not Trek. Brannon Braga started it, and Majel Barrett allowed it. Now it has gotten way out of hand. They should talk to the people who truly love Trek as it should be and let them have a say. I know a lot of Trekkies that refuse to go to the new movie in 2013. I think they're going to be very disappointed in the numbers this time around.
