COOL NEW POSTER FOR UPCOMING SF HORROR "DAYBREAKERS"

Here's a cool new poster for the upcoming sf horror "Daybreakers" in which Ethan Hawke plays Ed, a researcher in the year 2017, in which an unknown plague has transformed the world's population into vampires. As the human population nears extinction, vampires must capture and farm every remaining human, or find a blood substitute before time runs out. However, a covert group of vampires makes a remarkable discovery, one which has the power to save the human race.
Ethan Hawke is joined by Sam Neill and Willem Dafoe in the film which comes to theaters January 8, 2010.
The trailer for the film is available over at my YouTube channel.

  1. I'd never even heard of this until today! I've been DEVOURING horror films lately. :)

Suspiria should be coming in the mail for me today. Should I be scared??

  3. I hope this movie will be awesome but I wasn't very impressed with the filmmakers 2003 film, Undead... which was far to stupid and far to underacted for me to even find it comically bad.

  4. I've seen this trailer a while ago, and I'm not particularly excited about this film. It's almost black and white, and its story doesn't seem that original, or unpredictable. At least not to me.

There was a "similar" film (similar to me) 6-7 years ago. It was Equilibrium. Somewhat predictable story, dystopian setting, total lack of colours, and a mix of investigative drama and action. And changing of the world order, of course. :)
But I found many small things I liked in Equilibrium that I cannot seem to find in this Daybreakers. It's just doesn't spark any special interst in me.

  5. EQUILIBRIUM is one of my favourite movies ever, but I would never compare it to DAYBREAKERS which will probably be just a small sf horror flick, while EQUILIBRIUM had artistic depth and is pretty much a cult sf movie today.

  6. I'm sure Daybreakers is much more "important" film then Equilibrium was. It has bigger budget, well known cast, and much better marketing.
Of course, SF horror genre never has "grand" projects or big budgets, but Daybreakers are right there at the top in those categories (in its respective genre). :)
