Here are some fresh pictures from next year's epic adventure "Clash of the Titans". "Empire" magazine has put Sam Worthington on the cover of its latest November 2009 issue.
Alongside Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Mads Mikkelsen, Jason Flemyng and Gemma Arterton ... Sam plays famous hero Perseus who has to defeat Hades and take power from Zeus by leading a brave bunch of warriors deep into forbidden worlds where they will battle against demons and fearsome creatures.
The film comes out March, 2010.
I haven't seen these images until now. I wish Sam's character didn't look so authentic. Those skirts just don't strike me as warrior clothes, or a male clothes for that matter. I don't care if the old Greeks wouldn't agree with me. Or some other male-skirt wearing ancient people. Or those Scottish highlanders who still think it's proper way for a man to dress.
ReplyDeleteSam Worthington already became most wanted/talked_about male star in Hollywood, even though Avatar and Clash of the Titans haven't come out yet. (Just as Dez warned us so some time ago.) :))
On an unrelated matter, but considering new and upcoming TV series, I checked out first episodes of Eastwick and FlashForward.
ReplyDeleteI liked Eastwick. It reminded me at once of Desperate Housewives, with fantasy elements. It starts with narrator, has several female leads, small and "peaceful" town, beautiful and warm colours and lightning... Maybe my comparison is out of place as I haven't really watched the Housewives.
Maybe I'll also like FlashForward. It has interesting premise, and it looks really expensive. Maybe the most expensive series this season.
I don't mind the skirt as a piece of clothing, in some illogical way it really adds to the masculinity of warriors and fighters, but I don't like this one on Sam, because it looks too baggy and too big, and the waist is too high. He deserves some better tailoring, but who knows maybe it will look good in the movie itself.
ReplyDeleteI liked the first episode of EASTWICK as well, but then again, I'm Rebecca Romijn's biggest fan, and I'd like anything she does. But I don't like the male actors in the show.
New pictures today. :) Looks like some volcanic terrain.
ReplyDeleteI admit I'm prejudiced about male skirts. :) Not so much as to refuse to wear it it the situation absolutely demands it. I would wear it then, but I would probably feel uneasy. :)
Male lead in Eastwick is the Paul Gross. I didn't recognise him at first, but then I found out he played Constable Benton Fraser. A famous Canadian Monutie in TV series Due South. I really liked that series.
Paul Gross still looks good (he's 50). He has the bearing and posture needed for this character in Eastwick series. Maybe he doesn't look sinister enough to me, but maybe that also what creators intended for that character.
Yes, volcanic terrain because they are going down into the Underworld, and there's also the pic of Liam Neeson as Zeus.
ReplyDeleteI still don't like Paul Gross in EASTWICK, he's not handsome and charismatic enough for my Rebbeca Romijn :)
