WITH TIM ALLEN IN SHIFTING GEARS SITCOM

 After playing his loving wife in Last Man Standing, Nancy Travis will join Tim Allen in his new sitcom SHIFTING GEARS as well. The sitcom which became ABC's most watched premiere of all times with over 17 million viewers two weeks ago, will see Nancy guest star as a spirited widow named Charlotte, who connects with Allen’s character, Matt. This will basically be the first time for us to see Tim have a love interest in any of his sitcoms, since he always had a wife in them but in the new one his wife died from heart attack and he lives alone before his estranged daughter moves in back into the house with her kids. Shifting Gears airs Wednesdays on ABC and streams on Hulu.

Montefiore's THE WORLD: A FAMILY HISTORY OF HUMANITY will be turned into a TV series by Karga Seven! The sweeping historical book chronicles the world’s great dynasties across the entirety of human history, focusing on families including the Habsburgs, Nehrus, Caesars, Zulus, Borgias, French, Asian and Russian dynasties, while it examines history through their palace intrigues, love affairs, and imperfect lives. Not really sure whether it will be a live action series or high end docudrama, but Karga Seven did Testament: The Story of Moses and Rise of Empires: Ottoman docu series for Netflix.

Disney Plus has released first images from their new British original mini series THE STOLEN GIRL a small screen adaptation of the book The Playdate by Alex Dahl. The series tells the story of fascinating, relatable and complex women in an unimaginable situation. A seemingly ordinary decision turns the world of Elisa (Denise Gough), mum to two young kids, upside down in this tense thriller. When her 9-year-old daughter Lucia excitedly asks to go on an overnight playdate with her new best friend Josie, Elisa agrees. After meeting Josie’s mother, Rebecca (Holliday Grainger), she’s put at ease by her charming nature and their impressive house. But when she says goodnight to her daughter, she has no idea that she is about to be thrust into every parent’s worst nightmare. The next day, when Elisa goes to pick up Lucia, she discovers that the beautiful house is a holiday rental. Lucia is missing. Rebecca and Josie have vanished. What started out as her daughter’s first sleepover has turned into an abduction. As an urgent manhunt unfolds across Europe, Elisa and her husband, Fred (Jim Sturgess), find themselves the object of police and public scrutiny. Elisa’s perfect family begins to unravel under the pressure, and long-buried secrets come to light. Rebecca took Lucia for a reason. And as viewers learn more about the tangled lives of these women, we will wonder if Rebecca was justified in kidnapping the little girl – and whether she might be better off staying hidden. The series will air sometime later this year also starring Bronagh Waugh and Michael Workeye. The series is not to be confused with All Her Fault which has a very similar plot and will star Sarah Snook over at Peacock.

Spacers are the descendants of Earth-born humans who have colonized other planets in the galaxy. As Baley navigates the investigation, tensions arise between Earth’s overcrowded, robot-wary society and the more advanced Spacer civilizations, which embrace robotic integration.

BBC has released trailer and February 2nd air date for their upcoming new mini series MISS AUSTEN which will also air on PBS in USA but from May 4th, marking 250 years since Austen's birth. The four part drama stars Keeley Hawes as Cassandra Austen, with Synnøve Karlsen, Patsy Ferran, Phyllis Logan, Max Irons, Alfred Enoch, Calam Lynch, Mirren Mack, Kevin McNally also in the cast. On PBS it will air   in May and you can see what you can expect if you check out the first trailer below the post released earlier this morning by the British broadcaster.

  THE DRAMA BEGINS IN 1830

In flashback, we meet Young Cassy (Synnøve Karlsen) and Jane (Patsy Ferran) as they navigate the romantic infatuations, family feuds and dashed hopes which shaped their lives, and laid the foundations for Jane’s unforgettable stories. After visiting Italy and France earlier this week, we are heading to St. Petersburg where our today's fantastical musical was shot. Scheduled for cinematic premiere in mother Russia in February 2025 is historical musical movie PROPHET: THE STORY OF ALEXANDER PUSHKIN (Пророк. История Александра Пушкина) in which the role of the legendary poet in different years of his life is played by Yura Borisov in older age and Kai Goetz in youth. This is the life story of the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin from his lyceum days to the fatal duel. In the film, Pushkin will appear as a modern and multifaceted hero, in whom the dark and terrible fights with the light and enlightened.

 WHO IS IN THE CAST?

The cast of the movie directed by Felix Umarov also includes French actor Florian Desbiendras as Georges Dantes, Ilya Vinogorsky as Ivan Pushchin, Anna Chipovskaya in the role of Countess Elizaveta Vorontsova, Ilya Lyubimov as Vasily Zhukovsky, Evgeny Schwartz as his imperial highness Emperor Nicholas I of Russia and Sergei Gilev as Alexander Benckendorff. The film will be titled The Poet for the international release.

As Variety reports Gregory Gadebois will take the lead role in Les Miserables prequel movie VALJEAN from Eric Besnard who directed French 18th century movie Delicieux. The film charts the journey of Jean Valjean, embittered when he is released from prison and does not believe in anything anymore. He’s ostracized and considered dangerous; but his life takes an unexpected turn after he meets a bishop who treats him with kindness and generosity, despite Valjean robbing him. This act of kindness is a turning point for Jean Valjean, as it shows him that there is still good in the world. He begins to question his own choices and starts to see that there is another path for him. The film follows the steps that lead to Jean Valjean to become the man he was always meant to be, a good man who wants to help others. Bernard Campan, Isabelle Carré and Alexandra Lamy also star.
