It never rains here but pours.... After that, when the French finally arrived with boats and doctors, most of the Serbs were dead, and the survivors were healed and then sent to Thessaloniki front which they will help break and win the war. No wonder only one third of all boys and men returned to their villages and towns in the end. We have a movie Tears for Sale in which a village is left without any living men and crazy women all try to seduce the only, semidead, grandpa left in their place in order to conceive a child and save the village from being eradicated. It is a bitter comedy. I'm glad to hear they honored him with a monument. I can't imagine fighting the war, trekking through the cold, then having to rejoin at the front lines again. It's across the street of the two palaces and the charming pionirsky park. He has a monument in Belgrade in King Milan Street at Aleksandrov Park. It is possible you've even seen it :) They've put it in the place where the embassy of the Russian Empire once was. <br />It's actually quite a beautiful statue: https://gisabogunovic.yolasite.com/ruski-car-u-srpskih-vladara.phpDEZMONDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14127166104359407763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4651358851207677633.post-74932460341218265932018-11-20T21:23:43.029+01:002018-11-20T21:23:43.029+01:00What catastrophic battles for the Serbs!
