VERITY MOVIE TRAILER
WITH ANNE HATHAWAY AND JOSH HARTNETT
A trailer has been released for a big screen adaptation of Colleen Hoover's book VERITY which is out this October starring Anne Hathaway, Josh Harnett and Dakota Johnson. The psychological thriller follows Lowen
Ashleigh (Johnson), a struggling writer who is hired to complete a successful book series after its author, Verity Crawford (Hathaway), is incapacitated.
Once inside the Crawford home, Lowen becomes entangled with Verity’s husband Jeremy (Josh Hartnett) and uncovers an unfinished manuscript that may reveal disturbing truths about the author.

The trailer opens with a line that says it all: “There is no light where we’re going.” Few lines capture so perfectly the dark and unsettling tone of what’s coming. Verity is one of those books that keeps you questioning everything until the very last page, and the adaptation looks like it might truly live up to it. Anne Hathaway in that haunting role, and Dakota Johnson slowly being drawn into the trap without realizing it… the casting feels spot on. You’ve definitely left me wanting to watch it. Thank you. A hug.
ReplyDeleteHope you will manage to catch it, I think it will stream on Prime Video after playing in cinemas in Autumn, glad you liked the trailer, Angelo!
DeleteUna promessa d’ombra e rivelazione: il trailer di Verity sembra sfiorarti come una verità che non sai se vuoi davvero conoscere.
ReplyDeleteBuona giornata
Buona giornata, Silvia
DeleteNot a fan of Hathaway AT ALL...
ReplyDeleteShe is currently probably at the top of her career, tons of films with her right now.
DeleteThe cast sounds good and I like a good thriller.
ReplyDeleteIt seems quite intense.
DeleteSo many films are released in Russia every year that I don't have time to watch them all. Dezmond, you probably live in the US. You don't write about Serbia or Serbian films.
ReplyDeleteNo, our headquarters are in Vojvodina. I do mention an occasional Serbian film or series, usually the historical ones, if you write in SERBIAN in the search field in the right sidebar you will find them, but I generally cannot stand domestic ones and don't promote them much LOL I do mention all the Russian films and shows in which our Serbian stars also star, and there are more of them now playing in your films as your people seem to like Serbian love for your people and nation.
DeleteThe book was just ok. I don't think Hoover deserves as much hype over her works as she receives. The casting choice I don't fully agree with. I do like Anne, but I think she might be too old for the role. She's not how I pictured Verity at all. Dakota I cannot stand because she has 0 range and is charismatic as dry pasta, so I'm more inclined to skip this one with her in the lead. Josh, while also not how I pictured the husband, could work for the role as well. While he's also probably too old like Anne, he does have that baby face that he could pass for someone in their 30's.
ReplyDeleteTerrible range and also so privileged and refusing to admit it LOL
