SITCOMS 2019: NBC ORDERS FRAN DRESCHER'S INDEBTED, CBS CAROL'S 2ND ACT WITH PATRICIA HEATON, JEAN LUC BILODEAU, FOX JASON BIGGS, MAGGIE LAWSON OUTMATCHED, ABC UNITED WE FALL! PLUS CANCELLED PILOTS!

   MULTICAM SITCOMS 2019
 WHICH ARE DEAD FOR GOOD?
United we Fall will air on ABC
It's been a bloodbath of a week for multicam sitcoms: CBS cancelled Murphy Brown, Fam, Happy Together, and Fox their Cool Kids. When it comes to this year's pilots, ABC has passed on Katey Sagal's Nana, CBS on Katherine Heigl's Our House and David Walton's The Story of Us and Briga Heelan's To Whom It May Concern, Fox on Patty's Auto, NBC on Zach Cregger's Friends in Law
UNITED WE FALL
ABC has, however, ordered UNITED WE FALL multicam to series. Starring Will Sasso, Christina Vidal, Jane Curtin and Jason Michael Snow, it is a profoundly realistic, multicultural family sitcom that shows how, when two people with young children and overzealous extended families truly love each other, barely anything is possible.

FRAN DRESCHER'S INDEBTED
formerly known as Uninsured has been ordered to series by NBC and it is the one I was most happy about, personally. It marks her return to the network together with  Adam Pally, Abby Elliott, Steven Weber and Jessy
Indebted will hit NBC in the MidSeason!
Hodges! Young parents Dave and Rebecca are ready to reclaim their life after years of diapers and sleepless nights. However, things take an unexpected turn when Dave’s parents show up unannounced and broke, leaving Dave with no
Fran Drescher will play Adam Pally's mother in Indebted
choice but to open the door to the people who gave him everything. But these boomerang parents aren’t great with boundaries and the question of who’s parenting who quickly become blurred!

CAROL'S SECOND ACT
has been ordered to series at CBS. Starring  Patricia Heaton
, Kyle MacLachlan, and our dearest Jean-Luc Bilodeau, it revolves around Carol
Chambers (Patricia Heaton), who, after raising her two children and retiring from teaching, embarks on a unique second act: becoming a doctor.

Lucas Neff, Jean Luc Bilodeau and Patricia Heaton will lead Carol's Second Act
Hilarious new multicamera sitcom CAROL'S SECOND ACT will air on Thursday evenings at CBS from Autumn! They've also ordered Jaime Camil's BROKE to series.

OUTMATCHED AKA GENIUSES
has been ordered to series by Fox and will probably be Last Man Standing's sidekick next season. It is a family comedy about a blue-collar couple (Maggie
Jason Biggs and Maggie Lawson are parents of geniuses in Outmatched
Lawson and Jason Biggs) in South Jersey trying to get by and raise four kids, three of whom just happen to be certified geniuses. The sitcom will air on Thursday nights with LMS from January!

  1. It seems the best has survived the "bloodbath". 'United We Fall' is not just a sitcom it's one with a realistic, even optimistic message - when the couple's united they can overcome the many obstacles in their daily life.

    1. I must admit I'm generally satisfied with the chosen pilots this year, although I'm sorry to see a lot of them go as they seemed to have really nice casts, but that is the pilot season - most don't get ordered to series.

  2. Maybe Netflix or Amazon will pick up some of the ones the other networks passed on. I think I was looking forward to Nana and Our House, but United We Fall does look promising.

    1. I wanted Friends in law as I adore Zach Cregger, but they did give me my other two geeky hunks in Jean Luc and Lucas Neff so I will forgive them. The problem with these is that they often get ordered by the wrong network. Undebted for example will probably die at NBC but would've lasted for years at Fox next to LMS for example. Sitcoms should, in my opinion, avoid ABC and NBC. I'm waiting to see how Outmatched will work with LMS and whether the two sitcoms will be getting a new evening as I think Fridays will be different next season at Fox with some new show launching. United we Fall will probably have to be paired up with that treacherous shit Conners. And Fran might get Will & Grace companionship which is not good as W&G crashed massively this season.

    2. I agree. NBC and ABC seem a bit too serious these days for sitcoms. They are much better suited on Fox. I am happy to see Jean Luc back on the air. We have missed that gorgeous face since they took our beloved Baby Daddy off the air.

    3. Fox won't have a comedy hour at all com-a-Autumn! They've just revealed that Last Man will not be on from September first time in it's eight years, they are saving it for MidSeason, Outmatched as well. To make things worse, NBC is putting Will and Grace and Undebted also for MidSeason, which means there will be no multicam sitcom on air when Fall hits us beside what will be on CBS! Fox and NBC and ABC have fully ruined their Autumn schedules, I dont remember ever not having nothing to look forward to as much as this season. I will have to fully rely on Brits, Apple, Amazon and Netflix.

    4. Well that's a bummer :( I suppose I finally catch up on Game of Thrones this fall then with nothing else on the horizon. I'm probably the last person on the planet who hasn't watch a single episode.

    5. If you do, don't tell me, I don't like it when sane people watch that evil bloodfest. LMS has been put on Thursday nights from January.

    6. I still need to do Harlots too, so I'll tell you when I start that one instead ;)

    7. I do love me some Harlots, the third season should arrive this summer! Without Samanatha Morton as she moved over to that embarrassment The Walking Dead. Why would you board a ship that is sinking?

  3. I rarely watch sitcoms because when I do I always choose the wrong ones and then get mad at myself for watching them. But I love reality TV!

    1. That is why I always watch only multicam ones, the ones with the laughing track. I like them warm, family oriented or friendly. Both intelligent and innocent ones. I don't do single camera ones. This season I watched Last Man Standing, which is the only truly intelligent programme on US television, Will and Grace, and also Neighbourhood on CBS, it was also lovely. Next week I will start catching up on Fam and Cool Kids.
