Hugo Award.
OLD MAN'S WAR is set centuries in the future where older citizens are given a choice: age and die on Earth or join the military in the interstellar Colonial Union, which will transfer their minds into battle ready versions of their own younger bodies. The story follows 75 year old widower John Perry, who, in his amazing new body - Perry, discovers he’s a natural fighter and leads his platoon through gruelling battles against hostile alien races. But when he meets a soldier who looks like a younger version of his beloved deceased wife, everything Perry thought he knew about his new life, and the war he’s fighting in it, is turned upside down.
DID YOU KNOW?
These novels include all kinds of super modern technology and weapons and a whole bunch of different alien races including Lilliputian ones and some that look like a cross between black bear and a large flying squirrel!

  1. Interesting premise! And the kind of story that just cries out for CGI.

    1. Not much, no. I'm just not feeling Netflix much these days either. Thinking about switching over to Hulu for a bit.

    3. I know they do and I can't wait to see it. Wasn't Jamestown one of theirs too? That's another that I am itching to start watching.

    4. Jamestown was Sky's but it is possible Hulu aired it in USA. With TWD, Empire and Howards End ending all this or next week, I will have a lot of empty spots to fill :) I will start with Knightfall

    5. Yeah, I don't think we have Sky so it probably did run on Hulu here. I thought you were done with Empire. With how racist everyone said that show is, I never bothered with it.

    6. Sky is British, but they have Sky Atlantic which, methinks, is like BBC America or something.
Empire is very racist, and they pretty much ruined all of the characters by making them inconsistent and crazy, but as with Rick in TWD Cookie Lion is what makes me watch it still, you just love certain characters too much even if the show goes shitty. It is still a very fun show, kinda like modern Dynasty, and is different from most other things I watch. That and Royals are the only contemporary shows I watch (not counting the apocalyptic ones, I do love me Z Nation because it is crazy beyond belief).

  4. I hadn't heard of the books before this post. Sounds interesting. I don't read and watch tons of scifi, but I do enjoy it.
