PATRICK DEMPSEY JOINS COLIN FIRTH, RENEE ZELLWEGER IN 'BRIDGET JONES' BABY'! BRADLEY JAMES, TOBIAS MENZIES JOIN KATE BECKINSALE, THEO JAMES IN 'UNDERWORLD 5'! OCTAVIA SPENCER JOINS CHRIS EVANS IN 'GIFTED'

PATRICK DEMPSEY JOINS
'BRIDGET JONES' BABY'
A piece of delightful movie news my ladies will like: McDreamy is joining the third Bridget Jones movie! Patrick Dempsey will star in BRIDGET JONES' BABY although it isn't known whom he will play alongside Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth who return to their original roles together with director Sharon Maguire who helmed the first movie. The movie will be based on the newspaper columns that Helen Fielding wrote and not on her BRIDGET JONES: MAD ABOUT THE BOY bestselling book and will follow the mishap-prone British publishing executive as she enters her 40s and finds herself unexpectedly expecting! Hugh Grant is not returning to the franchise.

'UNDERWORLD 5' CASTS
BRADLEY JAMES AND TOBIAS MENZIES AS VILLAINS
Meanwhile, besides landing, earlier this summer, OUTLANDER and ROME star Tobias Menzies UNDER- WORLD 5 has now cast MERLIN's dearest hunk Bradley James and gorgeous Clementine Nicholson too. Joining Kate Beckinsale, who is returning as vampire warrior Selena, and Theo James, Nicholson will play Lena, the Nordic Coven’s greatest warrior and daughter of Vidar! Bradley James will be the male villain. The movie, which starts shooting next month in Prague, will see Tobias Menzies playing werewolf Marius, a mysterious new Lycan leader!

OCTAVIA SPENCER JOINS
CHRIS EVANS IN 'GIFTED'
A few weeks ago I've announced that our dearly beloved Chris Evans will lead the cast in GIFTED and now he is joined in it by Oscar winner Octavia Spencer with whom he already starred in outstanding sf thriller SNOWPIERCER. The film follows Frank Adler (Chris Evans), a deliberate underachiever who is raising his niece Mary (McKenna Grace) in rural Florida. When he enrols her in school for the first time, she is labeled as GIFTED. All Frank wants is for Mary to have a normal life, but standing in his way is her grandmother Evelyn and the dilemma that he doesn’t have custody of the child. He decides to take legal action. Octavia Spencer plays Frank's outspoken landlord and a good friend to both him and Mary. Lindsay Duncan plays Evelyn, Frank’s mother who is aristocratic and proper and who took over the custody of Mary after her daughter committed suicide.

  1. Despite my inexhaustible affection for Colin Firth, I've only seen the first Bridget Jones movie. I need to get around to seeing the second before the third comes out! I found the first movie to be one of those rare films that was actually an improvement on the book.

    1. I can't remember the second one, but I know I wasn't overly excited by it.

  2. So long as it has Kate Beckinsale, it doesn't matter what the next Underworld is about or who else stars in it. They're her movies, through and through. Sheer popcorn fun.

  3. Yay for another Bridget Jones, but I wonder how well it will do with all that horrid work Renee had done on her face. She hardly looks like herself anymore.

    1. oh my, I remember when she appeared for the first time not looking like her.. haven't seen her lately, is she still weird?

    2. She looks like a different person. I liked the original version better.

    3. but I do understand the pressure Hollywood ladies are faced with to forever look young... even Sandra Bullock botoxed her face so hard she looks frozen stiff

    4. I don't know if she still looks like that or not, but I don't think there's any going back to the original. I think it's so sad the pressure woman feel to look young in Hollywood. I sometimes think I would have done really well on the scene though since I've got that round, pudgy baby face that's not aging quickly (Thank God!)

    5. you absolutely would!
One of the worst examples is Courtney Cox... I cringe whenever I see here these days... that woman eats botox for breakfast... and dindins too.... I don't understand why they overdo it... I mean they have millions and can pay the best surgeons... why do they look like they were worked upon by dilettantes?

    6. I don't know why they do it. I wouldn't want to walk around looking like I had the face of a hard plastic doll. I'd much rather see an aging woman over that crud!

    1. I watched the first one, and maybe the second one.... didn't leave an impression on me... which goes for RESIDENT EVIL too but they keep producing them like there's no tomorrow.
We do love Bradley, hope he will be good in DAMIEN too, although that one is too scary for me to watch

  6. Okay, I actually frowned at that first one. The world flipped out over chick-lit movies and books (Bridget Jones, Sex & the City) for a few years, then burned out. Doing another Bridget Jones movie is like doing another Hunger Games movie in about ten years when everyone's WAY over it!

    1. yes, that would be my opinion too! Especially since the first two movies weren't great to start with
