'THE WALK' MOVIE TRAILER
WITH JOSEPH GORDON LEVITT AND BEN KINGSLEY
The second trailer for today comes from up high where Joseph Gordon Levitt will take THE WALK on a tightrope this October under Robert Zemeckis' direction!  Twelve people have walked on the moon, but only one man – Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon Levitt) – has ever, or will ever, walk in the immense void between the World Trade Centre towers. Guided by his real-life mentor, Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley), and aided by an unlikely band of international recruits, Petit and his gang overcome long odds, betrayals, dissension and countless close calls to conceive and execute their mad plan.

  1. I'm getting vertigo just watching the trailer for The Walk, let alone seeing the full movie! Think I'll have to give this one a miss.

    2. I agree with Debra. Heebie Jeebies.
But I liked the first trailer!

  2. Hmm, curious as to whether The Walk will be able to tackle the material without dealing with the collapse of the towers. It's a tough line to walk (no pun intended) and I wonder how uncomfortable it may make some people.

    1. it's set in the 70s, why would it deal with the collapse?

    2. it does bring up painful memories for a lot of Americans. In 2001, a lot of movies, tv shows, and video games were delayed because they had the towers in the background or featured something that would bring up memory of the attacks.

This was never a government-issued censor (very rare in America as most would violate the 1st amendment) by the way, but a common practice in the media industry.

    3. long time has passed since then... Should we then never see movies set in Iraq or Libya because they would remind us of the millions of lives Americans have killed there? Of course not... To you it's a single building, to the rest of the world the whole ruined countries remind them of pain and suffering and destruction under Modern Nazis...

    4. Darling you shall never get them to understand how the rest of the world views them. They can't even grasp that Iraq did nothing to them, wasn't involved in the Trade Towers and didn't have weapons of mass destruction. to them killing all those innocent people in Iraq is their right as Americans. Somehow the deaths of all those innocent people protects their freedoms. As I'm not clinically insane, I can't grasp it.

And they still think they won WWII all by themselves.

    5. Yes, ''to kill'' as their right is magnificently and very precisely put, dear. So many good people are brainwashed...
I'm always surprised with the number of people who actually have no idea of the real picture the world has of their country. Only yesterday there was an article on Obama in DAILY MAIL and there was a comment of an American woman who was defending him saying that he made the world look positively on USA. Of course, she had billions of dislikes there, but imagine living in such delusions?
Or you see a comment of a Turkish person who is shocked to discover that all the Balkan states have negative feelings toward her country because she was taught the Ottoman empire spread civilization, law and peace throughout their history not butchery, slaughter and slavery....
Such lack of perspective always deeply saddens me because it tells us that the truth will never win in today's world of media and propaganda

    6. I think it helps to get outside of your own country by going to other media outlets and seeing what is reported and see what the people say. And when you see it, don't dismiss it out of hand. Take a minute, put yourself in their shoes, reflect, read some more and then decide.

During the Troubles when the IRA from Northern Ireland were bombing innocent people in London, we knew what the world thought of us. And even though we weren't responsible in the Republic, we were ashamed. It was wicked what they were doing and to let National pride blind us to that would have only compounded the horror.

We also know how much the rest of Europe hated us when the economy fell. They blamed us, Iceland and Greece. Yes, we screwed up, but so did everyone else. At least we have the sense to own our mistakes and feel shame over it.

    7. I don't think that Europe hated you, dear, maybe UK and Germany, but those Nazis hate everybody :) Iceland is a much loved country because they have the most democratic system ever in which politicians and bankers have no say. Ireland is mostly loved, and I don't think anyone has any negative feelings towards your country. That is British propaganda. Greece... so and so... they are a bit stuck up... and are often terrible hosts (Even though half of my country spends summers there)... they're hated only by the leeches in Germany and UK....

  3. Is it me or is Joseph Gordon Levitt's accent a little...not quite there?!

    1. It's not just you, the accent is horrid. I can only imagine what the French will think of this travesty.

    2. not just the accent.. just look at that abominable hairdo :)

    3. looks like a dead possum, doesn't it? :)

  4. Oooooh Z looks good. I like the idea of two people getting on with things, being close and healing one another and then comes the monkey wrench-person number three. They've already got me sucked in as I want to know what happens. Do they all get along and resolve the triangle? Does she get torn apart in the choosing? Do other people show up? Ya, they did a good job with putting that trailer together.

    1. If you ask me, I'd stick to the threesome instead of breaking it LOL But that is just naughty old me :) Methinks Chris and Chiwetel will kill each other in the movie and she will again remain alone.

    2. You think they would do that? If they did, do you think they would have her be pregnant. Future of humanity and all that.

    3. I don't think she will sleep with any of them, didn't you notice she was kinda modest and chaste.... I mean if me was the last person on Earth and suddenly a hunk appears I don't think it would take us days or weeks for us to hump each other... and in the trailer she is all like a schoolgirl...

      Delete
    4. But it is always the innocent schoolgirl who is the most naughty :0)

  6. I love Robert Zemeckis'. May his future not be rebooted. And as for this movie, I'm afraid I won't be able to watch it without getting sick.
