IAIN GLEN TO LEAD 'CLEVERMAN' SF TV SERIES WITH FRANCES O'CONNOR! 'HOME FIRES' WW2 TV SERIES TRAILER WITH ED STOPPARD, FRANCESCA ANNIS! 'KEVIN FROM WORK' SITCOM TRAIELER WITH NOAH REID

IAIN GLEN TO LEAD
'CLEVERMAN' SF TV SERIES
A bunch of TV news today, starting with the news coming from Down Under where they are preparing a new sf series to be lead by GAME OF THRONES' Iain Glen! A six part high concept sf drama CLEVERMAN will be set in the near future where a group of nonhumans battle for survival in a world where humans feel increasingly inferior and want to silence, exploit and kill them. The story focuses on two estranged indigenous brothers who are forced together to fight for their own survival. Otherworldly creatures also emerge into this “real world” dystopian landscape. Frances O'Connor and Ryan Corr will also star.

'HOME FIRES' TRAILER
FOR NEW WORLD WAR 2 SERIES
Something that started airing last weekend in UK is ITV's new War drama HOME FIRES! Ed Stoppard, Samantha Bond and Francesca Annis lead the cast of the six part drama, which is based on 'Jambusters: The Story of the Women's Institute in the Second World War' by Julie Summers. With their husbands, fathers, sons and brothers experiencing bloodshed on the battlefields, the women of a small rural Cheshire community have quite the task ahead of them if they are to keep their world from falling apart.

'KEVIN FROM WORK' TRAILER
FOR NEW ABC FAMILY SITCOM
Meanwhile, ABC Family has released first trailer for their new sitcom KEVIN FROM WORK  which arrives this summer, following Kevin (Noah Reid), a young man who declares his unrequited love for his co-worker Audrey (Paige Spara) in a letter, believing he’ll never see her again after he accepts a job overseas. But when the opportunity falls through and Kevin is forced to return to his old job, how will he and Audrey continue to work together now that his feelings are no longer secret?

  1. Hmm, Kevin From Work certainly has potential, but I do wonder how long they can keep the premise going.

  5. I agree with Bob, thinking they can't keep the charade up forever. I HATE it when a sitcom just drags a storyline out for seasons upon seasons.

    1. like in BABY DADDY, is Riley with Danny or Ben, with Ben or Danny... than when in the fourth season she finally admits Danny she loves him he gets angry and they go on a spring break.. .now I have to wait for summer continuation to see whom she picks :)

  6. Home Fires looks interesting. That era never bores me.

I agree about the dragging of that storyline. It would need good subplots and interesting secondary characters to be engaging.

  7. Come to think of it, that storyline seems like a subplot, rather than a central focus.

  8. I've been waiting on Home Fires and am glad to see that it will air soon. I'll get that one fairly quickly.

Good God but I love Iaian Glenn. I've seen almost everything he's ever done, but not all. I loved him in Jack Taylor. It's a show about a detective from Galway who leaves home because it's been utter hell. He returns after the boom to the wretched state the place is now in and has to grapple with his past and the present economic disaster.

The days outing was cancelled as The Spawns best friend (who is also getting married) got called into work. Moi was a bit disappointed but hoping we can go next week.

    1. it airs already, maybe some of US channels buy it. You should not miss CRIMSON FIELDS which will air at PBS methinks or BBC America this summer, I adored that one last year.

There is something warm in Iain which I like.

More time for you to practice your excited looks and gasping :)

    2. I'll have to wait a bit for Crimson fields if it's from BBC. Should take about a year to get to Netflix.

Dahlink, have I been removed from your blogroll?

    3. Here, I checked it, it will air in June at PBS in USA! It's already out on DVD in UK and you have it on Torrents.

Only temporary, dear. Your blog hasn't been active since January, and dead links are terrible for Google ranking. I had too many dead blogs in the official blogroll and they lower my ranking and earnings too :( I will put it back, but I thought you stopped blogging entirely after you disappeared last winter without a word :(

  9. I am not sure if that Kevin from Work has enough juice to fill a whole series unless if they go in the way of the office. Hmmm

    1. we shall give it a chance, but I don't like the fact that it is a single camera sitcom, I prefer multicamera ones

  10. What a fun assortment of offerings today, Dezzie. These all look great. It's fun that the fad of Downton Abbey may be spawning more great shows.

    1. Glad you liked the offer... Hollywood has been so poor in offer lately, that I have to come up with news every day :)
