WHO WERE THE BEST AND THE WORST DRESSED AT EMMY 2014! CHRIS HEMSWORTH JOINS ED HELMS, CHRISTINA APPLEGATE, CHARLIE DAY IN 'VACATION' COMEDY REBOOT!

'VACATION' COMEDY REBOOT
CHRIS HEMSWORTH & CHARLIE DAY JOIN ED HELMS
Well, I'm guessing Thor has to take a VACATION sometimes too: according to the latest news Chris Hemsworth will join the cast of the VACATION reboot! As you might remember the 1980's comedy starred Chevy Chase as Clark Griswold a man taking his family on a disastrous road trip. In the reboot Ed Helms stars as Rusty Griswold, the adult son of Chevy Chase's Clark Griswold. The story follows Rusty and his wife (Christina Applegate) going on their first family road trip vacation. Chris Hemsworth will play the anchorman boyfriend of Rusty's sister, while Charlie Day will play a river raft touring guide. It was earlier mentioned that both Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo, who played his wife, might appear in the film too.

EMMY 2014 FASHION REPORT
As it happens every year, EMMY 2014 awards went to all the wrong hands last night as well, so let us ease our pain by trashing the celebrity red carpet fashion :) Click on the pics to see them bigger!

THE BEST DRESSED LADIES
So, whom did you like best? Most of the best dressed ladies opted for white, like sexy Sofia Vergara in Cavalli and Lucy Liu in Armani, or for rosy gowns, like two British roses Louise Roe and Cat Deeley.
And those who opted for blue shades looked amazing too: Christine Baranski and Debra Messing were flawlessly refined in midnight blue, while Michelle Dockery looked delightful for the first time ever in colourful but tender dress. I'm not happy to admit it, but for the first time I remember Julia Roberts had the most amazing outfit dressed in Elie Saab.

THE WORST DRESSED LADIES
Some of the ladies looked positively sad even though they wore fiery red. Claire Danes never leaves the worst dressed list, Christina Hendricks' gown was clumsily tailored, while Kaley Cuoco and Zooey Deschanel looked cheap in red and pink.
Mayim Bialik, Lena Headey, Sarah Paulson had granny gowns, while Kerry Washington had nothing of her small screen elegance in that orange number.

  1. Vacation sounds like it will be funny. Glad they're not making a remake of the original and going with the son's adventure instead. Christine Baranski looked great.

    1. she was truly elegant with that cape flowing across her shoulder and the colour was perfect too... maybe a set of bracelets would've been a plus more

  2. Lovely ladies! I don't care about the dresses! It will always be a matter of taste!

    Greetings

  3. Sofia is always my favorite. It doesn't matter what she wears, she looks great. And I'll not say anything bad about Lena Headey. I think she's awesome. :)

    1. They kicked Lena out of a church a few days ago here in neighbouring Croatia :) They were filming GOT and she was supposed to walk out naked out of the church .... but the priests kicked her out when they realized the blasphemy :)
I myself, never liked her.... she was horrid in 300 as Gorgo :(((

    2. LOL. She was not horrid. But, yes, she may be a blasphemous character. Probably why I like her. :D

    3. she was, she was :) and she was even more horrid in RISE OF AN EMPIRE :)

  4. It will be fun to see Chris Hemsworth in a comedy for a change. And oh, Sofia Vergara -- be still, my heart!

    1. He does have a funny factor in him :)
Poor Sofia was accused of sexism at Emmys :(

  5. Wow. showing them next to each other like that really shows the difference.

  6. I like Cat's dress the best. The subtle transition from colour to white is attractive to my eye. Debra Messing looked impeccable to me. But Julia Roberts is a dog no matter how you dress her up. She also doesn't have a clue how to show that dress off. I'd strangle her if I was the designer.

Sarah Paulson-Holy Christ what the hell is that? I sicked up a bit in my mouth when I saw that.

Do so enjoy being catty with you on Red Carpet days dahlink :0)

    1. yes, I almost cried seeing that amazing outfit by Elie Saab being wasted on Julia :( Elie is the best but he never knew how to choose the right celebs... he is also dressing that mediocre Halle Berry

    2. Clearly Elie needs a better clientele. Perhaps dressing the beautiful Cate Blanchett.

Also I don't like Kaley's hair so short. I don't think The Hubby has seen it like this. If he had I'd of heard him sobbing.

    3. I'd probably faint if Elie ever does something for Blanchett, Winslet, Blunt or Zeta Jones :) or Blake Lively... since she is my fave when it comes to red carpets

  7. I don't think I've ever seen Sofia Vergara look so stunning! The best dressed - by far!

And as much as I admire Michelle Dockery, it looks like she's wearing a Pacific Island sarong. Yikes ...

    1. it's by Roberto Cavalli and Cavalli knows how to put sexy in his gowns :) Not that it is difficult dressing up Vergara....
Dockery always has such artsy dresses... and they make her look even more plain than she is as an actress....

    2. A reboot... seriously? Whoever coined that term anyway?

    3. 'tis better than a reshoe :)

    4. That's because you were in my bootcamp...

    5. Maybe I need to.... reboot um reshoe that one too.

    6. I need a reshoe ASAP, just discovered yesterday that my only pair of sneakers is leaking when it's raining :((((

      Delete
    7. Funny you should mention that. I found out I had two holes in my favorite shoes... one hole in each. What are the odds? I don't own any sneakers myself. I must be the only one on the planet. I do have boots, though, but no reboots.

    8. I need sneakers because I go on foot everywhere since I don't have a car. So now I only have my flipflops and nothing else.... Don't have boots...

      Delete
    9. I really need to send you a pair of rubber boots.

      Delete
    10. I really needed those back in May during those horrid floods.... Did you know that some shops sold boots three times more expensive as soon as the floods started.... Some did that with bread and milk too....

  9. I thought I'd go straight to the Emmy gowns but OMG...A VACATION REMAKE??? I never thought I'd see the day. Glad they're doing this while Chevy Chase is still around to come back--I assume in a grandpa-like role!

    1. that gown on Debra was just flawless! Wearing midnight blue is usually the way to shine

    2. Especially with her hair color. Instead of the hair clashing with the dress color, every bit tends to compliment the rest!

    3. so many colours look wonderful on gingers

  11. Julia always look stunning whatever dress she's in I think. I haven't seen the original Vacation. Chris Hemsworth in a comedy film? I have to see this.

  12. Lucy Lu's dress is gorgeous. I wouldn't mind having one of those!

    1. it usually goes up to tens of thousands of euros per a gown... and the jewellery can be up to one million bucks

    2. Oh my gosh. I can't even wrap my brain around those kinds of price tags.

Just got back from the Corn Man on the corner. Bought more corn but he had a bunch of string beans waiting for me.

      YUM!

    3. I remember that the most expensive piece of bling ever worn at the Oscars was close to ten million dollars, but I forgot who wore it... I know she had guards around her all the time...
