HOLLYWOOD SPY SPOTLIGHT ON ANCIENT EGYPTIAN EPIC TV SERIES 'HIEROGLYPH' WITH MAX BROWN, JOHN RHYS DAVIES, REECE RITCHIE! TRAILER & STUNNING CHARACTER PICTURES

STUNNING CAST PHOTOS FROM
'HIEROGLYPH' ANCIENT EGYPT SHOW WITH MAX BROWN
We've waited for it for a long time and now Ancient Egypt is finally coming to the small screens as the setting for a TV show: coming to Fox next television season, HIEROGLYPH will be a lavish historical 13 episode adventure epic series written by 'Pacific Rim' and 'Clash of the Titans' scribe Travis Beacham who mixed in some fantasy too!
The show will follow Max Brown as a notorious thief who is plucked from prison to serve the Pharaoh (Reece Ritchie), forcing him to navigate palace intrigue, seductive concubines, criminal underbellies and divine sorcerers, as he races to stop the downfall of one of history’s greatest civilizations.

THE STORY OF 'HIEROGLYPH'
 PHARAOHS, MAGICIANS, CONCUBINES & THIEVES
The world of ancient Egypt – a time of magic, Pharaohs, gods and thieves – lives again in HIEROGLYPH, an exciting action adventure series! When a dangerous scroll, The Book of Thresholds, is stolen from Egypt's most secure vault, master thief Ambrose (Max Brown, “Beauty and the Beast,” “Tudors”) is plucked from prison to track down the perpetrator. Having spent the past five years in the darkest of pits, Ambrose quickly learns that his prison cell might be safer than the dangerous new world in which he finds himself: Atum, the empire's capital. Ambrose must answer to Pharaoh Shai Kanahkt (Reece Ritchie, “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time”), a god in the flesh, a young ruler with a cool charm and a violent, frightening temper. The question for Ambrose is not whether he can trust his new boss, but whether he can trust anyone. Also stalking the halls of the palace is Nefertari Kanahkt (Condola Rashad, “Smash,” “Steel Magnolias”), half-sister to the Pharaoh, whose relationship with Shai's closest advisor, Magister Bek, masks her own designs for power. Finding few leads in the palace, Ambrose's investigation takes him to the doorstep of his long lost love, Peshet (Caroline Ford, “Lake Placid: The Final Chapter”), a magic-wielding adoratrice, a type of homespun priestess who uses her femininity as a portal to the gods… for the right price. Peshet was the keystone in his merry band of thieves, an impressionable youth with great knowledge of magic, a woman who never saw a lock for which she didn't have an unlocking charm. Five years later, Peshet has left her old life behind in a pious pursuit of divine contact. Ambrose's journey leads him to old friends, such as Vocifer (John Rhys Davies, “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark”), a peddler of mystical wares and Ambrose's mentor. But he also comes face-to-face with foes both old and new, from Djet, a brutish thug-turned-crime boss of the city; to Rawser (Antony Bunsee, “EastEnders,” “Sex and the City 2”), the Pharaoh's captain of the guard, who imprisoned him five years ago; to Lotus Tenry (Kelsey Chow, “One Tree Hill”), a palace concubine and spy for a rival kingdom. As Ambrose unravels the mystery of the Book of Thresholds, he begins to see the extent to which sorcery has seeped into the halls of power in ancient Egypt, and how close it is to causing this great civilization's downfall.

    3. annoying and appalling... Our prime minister is using the situation for political games and propaganda which disgusts me to no extent.... He sends help only to the cities ruled by his party ... I despise our politicians... such rotten scums they are

    1. Following the situation with the biblical floods in my country, three days spent in building protections against the flooding rivers. many dead, many homes lost.... I gave my help by asking some of the celebs to retweet my call for financial help to Serbia. Luke Evans from THE HOBBIT helped me with that last night!

    2. If your celebs can get the word out, more people in America will know about it. That was very sweet of Luke to help out darling.

    3. it was very sweet... I would do it with other of my celebs too but the problem is that the government hasn't set up a phone number to which foreigners could pay help through sms. I only have bank account numbers but those are too complicated for most of the people who would otherwise help

  6. So if it is on FOX, is it only going to be around for one season? Especially if we end up enjoying it!

    1. I hope they will give them new costumes in each episodes, since these kinds of shows sometimes use only one costume per character in the whole season which is ridiculous. MERLIN wore the same outfit for five freakin' years

  12. I see that aid is pledged for your floods from the EU and from Russia. How much help has arrived? Is the American Red Cross responding? I only found one small blip from CBS online concerning the floods and that was two days ago. The BBC is covering it very well as is the Guardian.

    1. not much in money, but some of the countries did send rescue boats and equipment and teams. Nothing from the US of course. Bosnia is also hit hard and so are parts of Croatia. The problem is that we are such a poor country (and our political system is rotten) that we don't have much resources and there are tones of stupid people on high positions. For example, thousands of young volunteers went yesterday from Belgrade to one of the flooded cities to build defences, and when they got there they stood for three hours on the pouring rain in the darkness in front of the city hall waiting for someone of the officials to organize them and send them to the river to start with the work.... It is just stunning how people here are stupid and irresponsible. Most of the people from the flooded cities runaway with nothing because nobody alerted them on time and they ran away when the water was already flooding their houses....

    2. Nothing from the US... I'm sorry to hear that, Dezz. How are you coping?

    3. If it weren't for you Dezzy, I wouldn't have heard about the flooding either. I just wasn't covered here. However, we have a ton of coverage on when the Kardashian wedding is going to take place. Sickening that we don't get the news that really matters! So sorry to hear the U.S. hasn't sent any help. That surprises me, since it seems that we tend to help every country but our own.

    4. it just goes to show you, people, how US media are biased and how they manipulate with information. Back when US was bombing us for month in 1999 you were never shown the real damage, the real victims, you were never shown how they dropped bombs on schools, hospitals, bridges, innocent people... so why would it be any different when a whole country is drowning in seas of water? Especially when it is highly possible that US has caused the floods using their secret HAARP systems in Bosnia so that they would destroy our agriculture and that we would buy their GMO seeds ....

      Delete
    5. I'd say all media are biased. That's why I don't believe the hype. Ever. Nothing ever changes. There's nothing more coward than dropping bombs from afar like you're playing Nintendo. It makes me sick. I know it doesn't mean a thing to you, having gone through it all in 1999... Sigh.

      Delete
    6. especially since many of the military pilots really behave like they're playing Nintendo and killing abstract targets.... They even compete with each other who will destroy more buildings or kill more people and they laugh all the time..... And just to think that back in WWII Serbian villagers saved hundreds of American pilots on our territory from the Nazis
