RACHEL WEISZ & TONI COLLETTE TO PLAY BEST FRIENDS IN 'MISS YOU ALREADY'! AMAZING 'PARTS PER BILLION' SF DRAMA TRAILER WITH JOSH HARTNETT, PENN BADGLEY, GENA ROWLANDS, ALEXIS BLEDEL, ROSARIO DAWSON

 MISS YOU ALREADY
TONI COLLETTE, RACHEL WEISZ
Here's a full female cast for you: straight from Cannes comes the news today that Catherine Hadwicke will direct the amazing duo of two award winning actresses Toni Collette and Rachel Weisz in MISS YOU ALREADY! The story, set in Great Britain, will follow two lifelong friends whose relationship goes asunder when one gets pregnant and the other contracts a serious disease in the form of breast cancer. The movie, which is supposed to have both tears and laughs, was originally meant to have Collette and Jennifer Aniston as stars.
DID YOU KNOW?
You will watch Toni Collette in A LONG WAY DOWN in which she, Aaron Paul and Pierce Brosnan, play strangers who meet each other while trying to end their lives at a top of a skyscraper. She will also appear next to Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon in TAMMY,  and next to Christopher Plummer, Stellan Skarsgard, Rosamund Pike in epic drama HECTOR AND THE SEARCH FOR HAPPINESS! Rachel Weisz has made a break from shooting flicks this year, but you will see her next year in THE LOBSTER ensemble fantasy drama with Ben Whishaw, Colin Farrell and Lea Seydoux. After that she will star in Italian drama IN THE FUTURE with Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel and Willem Defoe.

'PARTS PER BILLION'
JOSH HARTNETT, PENN BADGLEY, GENA ROWLANDS, ALEXIS BLEDEL
Speaking of Cannes, the festival will also bring us the premiere of brilliant sf drama PARTS PER BILLION which has a rather stellar cast including Rosario Dawson, Josh Hartnett, Teresa Palmer, Penn Badgley, Alexis Bledel, Frank Langella and legendary Gena Rowlands! They all star in he interwoven stories of three couples which are forced to make life altering decisions in the face of a disastrous war. Inspired and sometimes blinded by their love, Len, Mia, Andy, Esther, Anna and Erik are as flawed and beautiful as any of the billions who are facing this human-made biological disaster. As the pandemic spreads and civilization is thrown into chaos, generations old and young must each make the ultimate decision!

  1. Toni Collette is one busy lady. Miss You Already sounds like it would be good, but don't know if I could watch it or not - afraid it would have a sad ending. Don't much like movies with sad endings.

    1. I hope it won't, hope Rachel heals in it from the cancer and Toni gets lovely babies. It is part comedy after all

    2. I was thinking exactly the same thing about Toni. She's working a lot and I think she is good enough to command a high price as an actress.

    3. I'd give her millions, but I don't think Hollywood thinks the same. If her latest show HOSTAGES was a hit, as it wasn't, she could get more money, but for some reason she gets just critical respect .... today's audience prefers physical beauty to talent

  2. I remember the trailer for A LONG WAY DOWN. She is rather busy. IN THE FUTURE has some nice star power in it.

I was telling Tim the other day that I would love to visit your country and eat some of your foods and then hit Hungry.

What's your pick of the above?

  8. Heavy topics in today's post. But if the story is inspiring and it ends well, I could handle it. Right now light comedy is my thing.

Finally my tulips have opened today, it's been a long wait for colour. We had a couple of nice warm days, but tonight it's to get down to freezing again.

  10. I'm a fan of dystopian societies - especially if there is a real chance it could happen - like a plague. Science can't cure everything, and that is the best example of natural life out of control.

  14. Love Weisz. If they ever get around to making a movie or series out of the Wheel of Time, I support her being cast as Moiraine.

That trailer is chilling. We sure seem to be fixated with the end of the world kind of thing. When I was a teen, my older brother and I read Neville Shute's ON THE BEACH about the survivors left after a major nuclear war and how eventually the radiation would make it's way around the world and kill everyone. Gave us both nightmares.

    1. it's true that the apocalyptic genre has become very popular, it's because the world is in its melting point due to the loss of law and morals and justice
