NEW 'HOBBIT DESOLATION OF SMAUG' TRAILER & BANNERS WITH LUKE EVANS, LEE PACE, ORLANDO BLOOM, IAN MCKELLEN! 'CHRONICLES OF NARNIA SILVER CHAIR' IN WORKS! 'BEAUTY & BEAST' POSTER WITH VINCENT CASSEL! 'MADAME BOVARY' GETS LOGAN MARSHALL GREEN

  BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
 VINCENT CASSEL & LEA SEYDOUX
Well, after dinosaur Monday, lady Tuesday, we're having fantasy Wednesday here at HOLLYWOOD SPY today! One of the fantasy movies we are looking forward too is also BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, which has just released first poster! The French film, helmed by Christophe Gans (you remember his BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF), will open in France in February featuring Vincent Cassel and Lea Seydoux in the title roles. The film will follow the Beauty who, after her father is caught by the Beast while stealing a rose from his garden, offers herself instead of her father. At the Beast's castle, it is not death that awaits Beauty, but a strange life in which fantastical moments mingle with gaiety and melancholy. In the end she manages to break Beast's curse, turning him into the prince again, and discovering love where she expected death.

  THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA
THE SILVER CHAIR IN WORKS
In short fantasy news, another fantasy sequel has been announced. It seems that THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE SILVER CHAIR is in works! It will be the fourth movie in the fantasy saga based on CS Lewis novels. The cast might need a refreshment, though, since most of the kids from the previous films have grown up now, with William Moseley starring in new show THE ROYALS as the prince, and Anna Popplewell playing a lady in waiting to Mary Queen of Scots in REIGN show.
MADAME BOVARY ADAPTATION
Another movie set in old times, is the adaptation of famous Gustave Flauber novel MADAME BOVARY which will have Mia Wasikowska in the title role of a woman who decides to improve her social standing through a series of extramarital affairs. The cast, which also includes Rhys Ifans as the villainous Monsieur Lheureuse (who convinces Madame Bovary to shop to excess on credit, eventually resulting in her financial ruin) will also have DOWNTON ABBEY's Laura Carmichael, Paul Giamatti and PROMETHEUS star Logan Marshall Green.

  DELIGHTFUL NEW TRAILER FOR
HOBBIT  DESOLATION OF SMAUG
Definitely the main event this week is the release of the third trailer for THE HOBBIT THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG! New banners for the highly anticipated epic adventure have also been released showing Bard the Bowman, Thranduil the Elven king of Mirkwood, Legolas and Tauriel, alongside Gandalf the Grey. Judging from the new trailer as well, it seems that unlike the rather monotonous and drawn out first movie, the sequel will be filled with exciting events from the visit to the Elven court, to barrel race, visit to the Laketown, with tones of Elven archers, giant spiders, bears, battles and fire, lots of fire. The movie is out December 13th!
LEE PACE IS THRANDUIL
The Elvenking Thranduil, played by Lee Pace, is the ruler of the Elves of Mirkwood, father of Legolas, who'll capture the Dwarves in his court.

LUKE EVANS IS BARD BOWMAN
Bard the Bowman, or Bard of Esgaroth, is played by Luke Evans, he is a skilled archer and the heir of Girion, the last king of Dale.
LEGOLAS & TAURIEL
Legolas is the Elven prince of Mirkwood, played by Orlando Bloom, with Evangeline Lilly playing Tauriel, Elven royal guard
GANDALF THE GREY
Gandalf the Grey, A Wizard that selects Bilbo Baggins to help the dwarves to go to the Lonely Mountain, is again played by Ian McKellen. He is also a member of the White Council with Cate Blanchett's Elven queen Galadriel.

  4. The previous CS Lewis to big screen wasn't as good as the books. I hope this is sorta like a reboot. The Hobbit looks good I can't wait to see SMAUG in all his glory.

    1. just like I'm trying to figure out why is Mr. Green married to Marissa Tomei :) Not because she's like twenty years older, but they just seem like a weird couple. That would be his wedding ring ,dear :)

  10. The thing I don't like about Beauty and the Beast is the message it gives to young girls. Find a man who is bad, love him and you can change him. "Tis a dangerous thing to teach our daughters.

You know I still haven't seen the first Hobbit movie. I'll get round to it, but PJ changed too many things from the book and that book meant the world to me as a child.

    1. Yes, but the Beauty didn't go for him because he was bad but because she wanted to safe her father and her family. I do agree with you on the issue of ladies falling for the bad guys. I think, psychologically speaking, that since most women have analytical minds which always need to work on problems, solving them and finding solutions, they, maybe, like bad guys because subconsciously they know those guys will give their minds problems to work on :)

    2. When we're young, we're stupid and we don't know that fixing a man isn't our job. I think it's also our need to care for things that are broken that drives us in this direction.

    3. and the worst is when ladies get into a marriage with such guys and then blame them for not being able to change them..... You can't really change the essence of people :(
The nurturing and caring aspect is also a strong factor, indeed, dear... Especially if you're an empath like moiself....
