"CHEERS" & "SEINFELD" STARS TO REUNITE IN KIRSTIE ALLEY'S NEW SITCOM! JENNIFER LOPEZ JOINS RODRIGO SANTORO & ANTONIO BANDERAS IN "THE 33" CHILEAN MINERS DRAMA! TRAILER FOR DISNEY'S "FROZEN"

JENNIFER LOPEZ JOINS
ANTONIO BANDERAS & RODRIGO SANTORO IN "THE 33" CHILEAN MINERS DRAMA
It seems that the upcoming movie on the tragedy of Chilean miners who were trapped underground for months a few years ago is gathering all of the top Latino stars for its cast. After Antonio Banderas and Rodrigo Santoro have joined the film in the lead roles, Jennifer Lopez has signed the deal too! THE 33 will follow the true story of the 33 Chilean miners who were rescued after being trapped a mile beneath the Earth's surface for 69 days back in 2010. According to "THR" Antonio Banderas will play the role of Mario Sepulveda, the charismatic miner nicknamed “Super Mario” while Martin Sheen will play a miner’s father, with Rodrigo Santoro appearing in the role of a trapped miner.

CHEERS & SEINFELD STARS
TOGETHER IN NEW KIRSTIE ALLEY COMEDY SHOW
And here's something interesting: TV Land's upcoming new sitcom KIRSTIE is looking to reunite tones of legendary television comedians: from Kirstie Alley in the lead role to Rea Perlman and George Wendt from CHEERS, to  Michael Richards and Jason Alexander from SEINFELD. Kirstie Alley will play Madison Banks, a Broadway star who finds her life turned upside down when her son (Eric Petersen) suddenly appears, looking to reconnect with his biological mother after his adopted mom dies. Rhea Perlman plays Madison's trusted assistant and best friend, while Michael Richards portrays Alley's eccentric driver. George Wendt will play Thelma's (Perlman) ex-husband, while Jason Alexander is Madison's Broadway manager.

The story of the animated tale follows Anna, a young adventurer who, in the hopes that she will bring an end to the perpetual winter climate, travels to find her sister, Elsa the Snow Queen! Idina Menzel lends her voice to Snow Queen while Kristen Bell lends her voice to Anna, the hero of the story which sees her and  a mountain climber called Kristoff journeying through snowy peaks and dangerous cliffs to find the legendary Snow Queen and end the perpetual winter prophecy that has fallen over their kingdom. The movie is directed by Chris Buck, whom you know as the helmer of TARZAN and SURF'S UP, and Jennifer Lee, whom you know as the screenplay writer for WRECK-IT RALPH!

    1. she had quite good roles in the beginning, before she became such a diva and now her private life dominates anything she does in the film world :)

  4. Frozen? Meh. As for the story of the 33 Chilean miners? I don't know if I agree that they should be using such top brass for a film. This is a visceral story of survival, and I'm sure no one in the wife group or the miner group looked anything like Antonio or Jennifer Lopez. They are among the most beautiful people on the planet. Sigh. It's all just disappointing Hollywood gloss.

    1. I wouldn't really be surprised if the miners themselves, when they were selling their stories, asked to be played by these stars :) I can imagine one of the miners' wives asking to be played by J.Lo :)

  5. I like the Frozen trailer. it is definitely working to attract kids to it. although it tells us nothing about the story...I almost prefer that. Thanks for the spotlight

  16. I dont like top Latino stars for its cast. It's distracting and movies with a line-up of stars are usually not that good. Okay, let's give them the benefit of the doubt.

    1. if they were making a film about your blue life, you wouldn't ask for a top star to play you? :)

      Delete
    2. No. That said, who would want to play me? But more importantly, who would play you?

      Delete
    3. people have asked me that many times. And I've no idea :) Nobody looks like My Imperial Self. Maybe if Jason Sudeikis and Justin Timerlake would mate and have a baby, the baby could play me LOL

    4. meanwhile, if we're looking for someone blue to play you, maybe a Smurf could do? :)

  17. I am so over those Chilean miners. Their story fascinated me for a minute, then you learned what grasping little jackasses they were when they all made these paid personal appearances everywhere, so I hope that movie tanks.

The Kirstie Alley project sounds interesting, though.

    1. well, they did deserve to earn some money after what they experienced (probably because of their company's lack of security measures).

      Delete
    2. Maybe, but I'm of the mind if you're going to make money off your tragedy, it's not a tragedy anymore.

    3. Especially if you're going to be suing your work and all the separate companies ever involved in making the equipment. Plus two of those guys had their mistresses show up as well as their wives. And last, but not least, those guys are all hump backed dwarves so having beautiful people play them is just a huge no for me. They should more accurately have Cheech Marin and Ruben Blades as the miners. ;D

      Delete
    4. ah, yes, I remember that part with wives and mistresses :) I wonder if they will show that in the film. They must be low on men in that area if they're chasing miners so much :)

      Delete
    5. or maybe it's because of their mining talents if you get what me means :)
