LEE PACE AUDITIONS FOR STAR LORD IN "GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY"! BECCA FITZPATRICK'S "HUSH HUSH" & ERNEST CLINE'S "ARMADA" FILM ADAPTATIONS! TRAILER FOR VIKING EPIC "THE HAMMER OF THE GODS" WITH CLIVE STANDEN, CHARLIE BEWLEY!

Oooh, good news, people, good news. HOLLYWOOD SPY's favourite Lee Pace has  officially confirmed to MTV that he is auditioning today in front of the Marvel Studios executives for the role of Peter Quill or the Star-lord in superhero adventure GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. I've reported before that Eddie Redmayne, James Marsden, Joel Edgerton, Jim Sturgess and Sullivan Stapleton are also in the run to audition for the most coveted role in the future Hollywood projects. This is the role of a former NASA astronaut who comes to learn that his father is an alien, which leads him into outer space. Armed
with a sentient ship and a suit that enhances his strength, Quill eventually transforms himself into the Star-Lord. The film is scheduled for August 2014! As you know Lee Pace, whom you've seen in visual delight THE FALL and in PUSHING DAISIES, is playing Elven king Thranduil the father of Legolas in THE HOBBIT. If I remember correctly some time ago he was also one of the main candidates for the Superman role which later on went to Henrylicious Cavill. He also played recently in LINCOLN.

HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
Yet another YA book to get its movie adaptation is the HUSH HUSH SAGA from Becca Fitzpatrick. Sold in around 35 countries around
world, the novels follow sixteen-year-old Nora Grey whose life quickly changes when she meets Patch, a mysterious new bad boy in school. Her instincts tell her to stay away from him, but Nora can't help being drawn to his undeniable charm. As they get closer, Nora finds herself in dangerous inexplicable situations and begins to realize that Patch is actually a fallen angel with harmful intentions. Speaking of books, Ernest Cline, who only a few days ago signed a seven-figure deal for his book ARMADA with Crown Publishing, will also see his book made into a film. Universal will make a film out of his story which has a high-concept hook that offers the ultimate wish fulfillment to every video game fan on the planet.

HAMMER OF THE GODS CLIP
Your trusted HOLLYWOOD SPY, one of web's biggest sites for all things epic, has informed you previously about this Viking epic and now we have the first
trailer. HAMMER OF THE GODS should hit cinemas sometime next year, a Viking epic with GAME OF THRONES' James Cosmo, CAMELOT's Clive Standen, DA VINCI DEMONS' Elliot Cowan and TWILIGHT's blond hunk Charlie Bewley. Set in the violent world of Viking Britain in 871 AD, this will be the story of a young Viking warrior, Steinar (Bewley), sent by his father the King (Cosmo) on a quest to find his estranged brother, who was banished from the kingdom many years before. Steinar's epic journey across hostile territory gradually sees him emerge as the man his father wants him to be - the ruthless and unforgiving successor to his throne.

  1. Hammer of the Gods looks incredible!!!

The Hush Hush story just looks so...overdone. I see that similar premise everywhere. I think the genre has too many angel stories out there.

    1. glad you liked the Vikings :)
And it's true that all YA crapbooks have the same plots and the same lack of quality in writing :( Not to mention that they all try to make evil and dark look romantic and sexy :(

  2. I have seen the book Hush Hush but I agree with Jay, it's so overdone. It will be popular however.

  4. Sweaty, hunky men covered in dirt-me is getting all tingly and warm. As long as they're not invading Ireland, I'll watch it darling :)

I do love the costuming they did for Pace in The Hobbit. So creative and very different from what I pictured in my head when reading the book. This is some serious pre-production hype for this film. I'm guessing though that the film will be worth the wait.

No on to Hush Hush. I looked at the description and read some excerpts of this horrid little series of books. Pushing the idea on young girls that bad men are attractive is just so wrong. And the whole notion that we women can somehow "redeem" them with our love is ridiculous. The Spawn was never exposed to trash fiction like this. If it wasn't literature, I didn't put it in her hands-full stop.

    1. Yes, as long as they stay away from Eire, those scantily clad warriors can entertain us on the big screen :)

The crazy thing is that GUARDIANS are scheduled to hit cinemas the same summer as AVENGERS 2 and many other superherofilms :(

Amen to that, Annzie. You know that I'm deeply disgusted by YA novels and they are the pure evil in today's literature. They teach girls to lust for bad boys, for the evil ones, to seek sexy in demons, fallen angels, vampires.... The most disturbing thing is that most of YA is written by mothers! Imagine mothers who write about vampires, blood, killings, demons, deeply disgusting!

    2. Amen my sister! Love never transforms anything, it's the lie that gets people to stay in bad relationships. YA needs to take a harsher stand and be more realistic.

    3. well it can't change the evil in them for sure and such big things, but it can certainly teach them not to pee all over the toilet seat :PPP

    4. I don't know where that falsehood started about couples changing each other. They don't. Not in big things or even small things. You just learn to cover up your flaws, but deep down you're still the same evil toilet seat spraying ignoramus. ;D

    6. Some women just can't resist a "fixer upper" and really all forms of media have played into this idea. One of the things that was good for The Hubby and I is that we were friends for a year before we dated. As friends we didn't pretend to be better than we really were. We knew each other "warts and all". And really, if you have to beat the hell out of a man to change him, he'll just resent you later.

    7. the resentment factor is the most dangerous one.

    8. I love that saying, Dezz. It is so very true.

Anne, you and the hubs definitely took the right path. Dating and starting relationships based on physical attraction just puts everyone on the wrong path. You should come together warts and all. Never, ever try to change for that person. If they can't accept you exactly as your are, why bother?

    9. you may use it in one of your next werewolf novels :P and quote the Serbs LOL

  5. I really like the premise of Guardians Of The Galaxy - just about anything set in space intrigues me. Hammer Of The Gods looks a little too violent for my tastes - although I do appreciate hot Vikings, hehe!!

  6. That Hush Hush looks waaay overdone and far too teen angsty to appeal to me. I'm so over YA films.

The viking one looks good, but so inaccurate with that rock music score, the short hair and the guy screaming "Come on." It'll be fun to look at though.

Do not care at all for the Galaxy flick. It just sounds like a thrown together Avengers retread.

    1. yep, I've noticed that Charlie Bewley, as hot as he is, seems awfully too modern for a Viking setting :)

    2. Looking at the men will have to be good enough. They got the title from the book "Hammer of the Gods" a bio of Led Zeppelin. It's terribly cliche for a title.

      Delete
    3. it is, I think they even had an atrocious and very cheap film on Thor with the same or very similar title this year :) I remember talking to the main actor in it, a very handsome hunk :)

    4. Yes, it was one of those Sy Fy films. So bad that even the cheesiness was missing. No, poor Charlie and crew look out of place as 8th century vikings.

    5. yep, and even the lead actor, Cody something, as gorgeous and kind as he is, was deeply horrid in his performance :(

  14. I'm with Anne on this one! This movie looks fantastic and right up my alley! Bring on Hammer of the Gods. Especially because it will fill that niche that my poor little heart needs once Spartacus is gone. Yeah, yeah, not the same but still, fighting and all that valor!
