IS VIN DIESEL'S EPIC SAGA "HANNIBAL THE CONQUEROR" FINALLY GETTING PRODUCED? ZACHARY LEVI & JIM STURGESS FOR STARLORD ROLE IN "GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY"! "EMPIRE" STAR TREK COVERS!

Variety reported earlier this week that we have new candidates for the lead role in Marvel's upcoming fantasy adventure GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. As you might remember, the previous candidates for the role of Peter Quill the Starlord, were Eddie Redmayne, Lee Pace (who even auditioned for it), James Marsden and Sullivan
Stapleton. Now the new candidates are Jim Sturgess and Zachary Levi. And it seems the choice is down only to the two of them. This is the role of a former NASA astronaut who comes to learn that his father is an alien, which leads him into outer space. Armed with a sentient ship and a suit that enhances his strength, Quill eventually transforms
himself into the Star-Lord, an intergalactic policeman and the leader of the Guardians. The film is scheduled for August 2014! As you know, Zachary Levi is already working with Marvel on THOR: THE DARK WORLD in which he replaced Josh Dallas in the role of Fandral, and apparently the studio likes his work on the project.

Today, you can also check out two new "Empire" magazine 2013 movie preview covers featuring Chris Pine as Captain Kirk and Benedict Cumberbatch  as the main villain in long awaited sequel STAR
TREK INTO DARKNESS which is ready to hit cinemas next summer starring also Karl Urban, Zachary Quinto, John Cho and Zoe Saldana!

HANNIBAL THE CONQUEROR
Good news from the epic front, my people! Last week Vin Diesel has intrigued his fans by posting something interesting on his Facebook profile: he said that a studio head told him that he wants to produce all three parts of Vin's dream project - historical saga on HANNIBAL THE CONQUEROR! He didn't give any other details, but does this mean the project to which Vin has dedicated almost ten years of his life is finally going to happen? As HOLLY- WOOD SPY reported years ago, the epic project would tell the story of the famous Cartha- ginian general who led a humongous army (including his beloved war elephants) across the Alps in order to destroy Rome in the Second Punic war.Late Tony Scott was previously
mentioned as possible helmer with Denzel Washington being Vin's dream choice for the role of Hannibal's father Hamilcar Barca who lead the armies in the First Punic War.

I truly hope Hannibal gets made, what an amazing story. And you and me love our historical epics for certain.

    1. That is quite a nice photo shoot of Vin, isn't it? And I see my ladies are still high on the Christmas post :))

Nothing special, Melsy, I spent it like any other day, since I'm not close with my family. Hope next year won't be as horrible as this one was.

    1. you know, it is very difficult finding a nice pic of Sturgess, he doesn't seem to do photo shoots :( and I like him only with the short hair. He is very cute.

  4. I've just washed my hair darling. Aren't I having the most amazing Christmas?

I don't know much about that Vin Diesile fellow as I don't think I've seen any of his films. Is he a good actor? He's very popular and I think he's quite handsome as me loves bald men.

The movie sounds interesting and I hope that after all this waiting, this man gets to realize his dream.

    1. And I've brushed my teeth and cooked some spinach, darling, we know how to party :)

He is interesting because he actually studied directing and his parents are college professors, but the world sees him only as a muscular action hero. I loved his THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK, which also has Judi Dench and Karl Urban :)

  5. Not on today's topic, Dez, but I must tell you -- we went and saw "Life of Pi" yesterday. I am SO disappointed. Oh, it was beautifully filmed and everything was just marvelous right til the end. Then the filmmakers' cowardice was made clear -- they completely sidelined and soft-peddled the whole central plot device of cannibalism and Pi's role in it. Without it, the moral issue of the whole narrative was pointless. As far as I'm concerned, the whole film was a waste of money if they didn't have the guts to tell the actual story.

    1. Haven't read the books, Debs, so I don't know the whole story :( The film is doing rather good around the world, especially in China and Asia. If they avoided cannibalism, I do support them, there's too much darkness on film today.

    1. I will vote for Zachary since he wanted badly to be Superman and it didn't happen :)
I have to Google what Chia Gnome is :)

  7. Guardians of the Galaxy would be more intriguing if there wasn't a chipmunk waving a gun around that probably weighs more than it does. I am however down with some Vin action :) I might not like everything he does but for some reason I like him.

    1. Methinks it's a raccoon :) It's possible the poor coon will be kicked out of the film cast :(
Vin is the same as Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham - we lurv them even though we don't really like all of their films.
