CATE BLANCHETT, DANIEL CRAIG, JEAN DUJARDIN IN GEORGE CLOONEY'S "THE MONUMENTS MEN"!

THE MONU- MENTS MEN
Oh, my, now this is quite a cast. Sometime last year HOLLYWOOD SPY mentioned that George Clooney has bought the movie adaptation rights for  Robert M Edsel's book "The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History", and that he will make THE MONUMENTS MEN period set movie out of it, but now it seems he's gathering quite a cast for it. "Deadline" reports today that Cate Blanchett, Daniel Craig, Jean Dujardin, Bill Murray and John Goodman will star in this story which follows a group of art historians and curators who helped to recover thousands of stolen artworks from the Nazis, during the final days of their reign. The story will apparently focus on the 11 months period between D-Day and V-E Day. Clooney will direct the film himself.

  1. I liked Brendan Fraser in GODS AND MONSTERS, but also WITH HONORS, AIRHEADS, and STILL BREATHING, but nothing beats BEDAZZLED. His three episode stint on SCRUBS was nothing short of brilliant.

    1. you should watch him in CRASH and especially in THE QUIET AMERICAN, Joshie, those are really stunning roles, deeply moving. Kill me if I know how on Earth he didn't get Oscars for those....
Was Bedazzled with lovely Liz Hurley? :)

    2. I saw CRASH and THE QUIET AMERICAN. He was great in them, though CRASH was not my favorite. And yes, BEDAZZLED was with Liz Hurley.

    1. I love to use that one :) It's her VOGUE photo shot for AVIATOR for which she won her only Oscar playing Catherine Hepburn. I also have one amazing photo of her in which she poses as armoured queen and I'm waiting for an opportunity to post it :)

    2. Wait, really? She's only won an Oscar for Aviator? I thought she won for Elizabeth? If not, she was robbed. Robbed!!!

    3. don't ask, sister, that fact is the biggest sadness of my life :( I consider her role in GOLDEN AGE the best performance in history. She should've won for I'M NOT THERE too and for BENJAMIN BUTTON and for NOTES ON A SCANDAL and for, well for all of her roles, actually.

    4. Ooh, I haven't seen I'm Not There yet. The other performances were just genius, though. Such a crime!!!

    5. I'M NOT THERE is the worst film I've ever seen (not counting DARK CRAP KNIGHT) but her performance there is mindblowing.

  3. Our lovely Kate is gracing your page today. The cast they've gathered is quite good and the story of Monument Men is an important one. It's sad to think of how much art was taken from the world by the Nazi's.

Thank you for the delicious photo of Brendan darling!

  9. What is it about Cate that makes her so alluring? I really don't think she is pretty, let alone beautiful. Something about her is exotic though.

And Brendan; naked, he isn't all that sexy. But I definitely wouldn't kick him out of bed :) He really is a versatile actor, can play a variety of characters.

Both your video's are great; but man do I love that She Wolf. I think I can use that in my Werewolf novella. Excellent inspiration.

Isn't SHE WOLF amazing? Especially when the rhythm starts pumping like crazy and everything starts jumping :) I love to exercise to that song :)

  10. First of all. Daniel Craig. I am in. Has he ever been in a bad movie? Perhaps, I just didn't notice it was bad because he was in it...oh I love him so...

Second. I am super interested to see what TNT does with Brendan Fraser - they really do have some excellent shows, and I would love to see him in something that didn't suck. He really can act, he just hasn't in a while. Not well anyway. He called into a local radio show once - there must have been something going on locally and he was promoting some movie that tanked. Anyhow, he the radio show wasn't expecting him to call and then he was talking all kinds of crazy. Anyway, that is my Brendan Fraser story.

We do love us some Fraser... such a lovely person!

  11. Legends sounds pretty good; I'll keep an eye out for that. Fraser's been kind of hit and miss with me so far, though.
