TRAILER FOR ORLANDO BLOOM'S "THE GOOD DOCTOR"! CHANNING TATUM IN "WHITE HOUSE DOWN"? LAURA HADDOCK FEMALE LEAD IN EPIC SHOW "DA VINCI'S DEMONS"! TAYLOR LAUTNER IN "TRACERS"

Now here's something exciting. You know how much HOLLYWOOD SPY loves epic shows, especially those on Starz, and you also know that,
for the next year, they are preparing an exciting new adventure show DA VINCI'S DEMONS, which will have young Tom Riley playing the brash and brilliant 25 year old artist, inventor, swordsman, lover, dreamer and idealist Leonardo da Vinci during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence. He is described as being the Renaissance version of our modern day Tony Stark as he struggles to live within the confines of his own reality and time and begins to see and invent the future So a man with lots of modern gadgets living in an old
century. Now, the new update is that Riley has got himself a love interest: drop dead gorgeous Laura Haddock (UPSTAIRS DOWN
STAIRS, THE PALACE) will take the lead female role of Lucrezia Donati, the mistress of Lorenzo Medici and lover of da Vinci. Laura is also known as the fiancee of HOLLYWOOD SPY's beloved Sam Claflin whom we've mentioned earlier this week. Aren't they the sexiest couple ever? It is interesting that they fell in love with each other sending letters to each other for two months before they actually met in reality for the first time.

HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
My ladies (and gay gents) will be thrilled when they hear that Channing Tatum is negotiating to take the lead role in Roland Emmerich's action drama WHITE HOUSE DOWN. The studio has paid record breaking $3 million for the script centring on a paramilitary takeover of the Presidential residence. Meanwhile, another young hunk Taylor Lautner has, according to "MovieWeb" joined TRACERS, in which he will play a New York City bicycle messenger, Cam who is the hottest thing on two wheels, but is in debt to an organized crime gang. When he crashes his bike into a sexy stranger, Nikki, Cam is immediately seduced by her and the thrill of the world of parkour. Sounds like a flop to me.

Oh, my, what is it with hairdressers who constantly give Orlando Bloom some strange hairdos or facial hair in films lately? If you
check out the first trailer for his new film THE GOOD DOCTOR you will know what I'm talking about. Ready to open up in cinemas this August, the film follows Martin Blake (Orlando Bloom), an ambitious but anxious young doctor, eager to impress his superiors and colleagues: Chief Resident Waylans (Rob Morrow), self-assured fellow intern Dan (Troy Garity) and no-nonsense nurse Theresa (Taraji P. Henson). But things are not going Martin's way and he can't seem to shake off his insecurities. When 18-year-old patient Diane (Riley Keough) is admitted for a kidney infection, Martin steps in, getting the much-needed boost of self-esteem he craves. But things take a dark turn as his enthusiasm begins to become an obsession.

  1. Not sure on the Bloom one, looks okay, we shall see. DaVinci one sounds like it will be a good show as Starz has a good track record. And they paid 3 million for that? Pffft all they have to do is go to season 7 of 24 and watch those few episodes when the white house got taken over, there you go, exact same thing and would have saved 3 million bucks.

    1. I'm overly excited about DA VINCI, especially since I like the cast, and I'm also waiting to hear something more on Starz' MARCO POLO project.

    2. Yeah that one sounded good too, and it has the guy behind Young Guns doing it, so that should help. Any guy who kills of Charlie Sheen can't be all bad..lol

      Delete
    3. LOL, 'tis true.
Speaking of Charlie, what happened to his brother Emilio? Haven't heard of him ever since Paula Abdul ditched him in the previous decade.

    4. He directed a few movies, but nothing more. Stakeout was on the best films of the 80's. Too bad he doesn't act anymore. I half expected him to get his own show with all the former stars and such coming back and doing tv.

    5. Emelio's career never seemed to amount to much, but at least he doesn't seem to be addicted to drugs and alcohol and be abusive to women. He's probably the better man.

    6. @Patrick
I wonder how he looks like these days... Martin Sheen has his shows, Emilio could get one too..... It's not like he's Corey Feldman or something :)

    7. Yeah I think Young Guns, Stakeout and The Mighty Ducks as all he really did that brought fame, but he is way better than Sheen, at least so it seems.

    8. @Annzie
aye, he can't possibly be a horrid man as his brother is.

  2. Oh my gosh, I disagree with Pat. I think the Bloom movie looks great! He makes House look like he has morals. I'm looking forward to that one coming out.

    2. Very, very chilling!! It makes me reconsider my surgery at the end of the summer.... *gasp*

      Delete
    3. LOL :) My surgeon did a similar thing a week ago when she prolonged the surgery onto four hours, even though her colleagues in the room thought my heart won't be able to take it. But she believed in me, just like I would have done if I had been awake :) Chilling things, chilling...

    4. Oh my gosh, Dez! Four hours. It seems she knows you well, knows your spirit. Your tenacity.

One day I'll write about my surgery (aka paranoia) about 12 years ago - it was so funny! In fact, I'll do it this week to lighten things up over there =)

    5. well, surgeries are generally unable to kill me :) I once did die on the surgery table back when I was a teen, but I fought back and came to life again, and ever since I'm pretty much indestructible, which is unfortunate for a certain cat....

    6. Pfft the cat has many lives so you will never get rid of him.

    7. Oh my gosh, really, Dez??? So, let me just give you this to mull over my interesting man - where do I find all these stories about you?????

    8. Cat you annoy me. Begone foul creature!!

    9. Dez darling, I'm glad you stayed. Life wouldn't be the same without you.

    10. @Pat
that has to be proved! We shall put you on the table and see for ourselves :)

    1. it will be a brilliant new show, if they stay away from morbid things they did in that wretched CAMELOT flop.

  4. Channing Tatum and Taylor Lautner, both are handsome hunks, my vote is for them. Orlando Bloom is more of milksop guy, why is he still doing movies?

    1. I'm not sure he's really doing them :) He hasn't had a hit ever since he left his Elven ears at Peter Jackson's place :)

  10. Eeeek that Bloom movie looks like it would stress me out. LOL. And you're right, that Lautner movie has the WEIRDEST premise I've ever heard. Mixing the mafia, bike messengers, and parkour?! Someone is running out of ideas.

    ReplyDelete

    1. yep, I've no idea which brainiac came up with the parkour element :) Especially since I generally think, as a psychologist, that parkour people are crazy....

  12. You always have the good scoops on what's coming out. The film with Orlando Bloom sounds interesting. And you're right, what's with his hair and whiskers?

    1. thanks, Kathi. He really needs a personal hairdresser on the set from now on..

  13. You're right, it's a crime what they've done to Blooms hair. If it weren't for the voice, I wouldn't recognize him. The film looks too dark and disturbing too me at least for now. Now I need laughter and hope.

Da Vinci is the one to watch. There's enormous potential for plot here and the epics that have been made recently have been good. Is there finally a trend that I like? It's possible.

    1. yep, it's not for us currently...

I'm excited about DA VINCI. Hope it will be creative, beautiful and exciting, and not horrid like CAMELOT was. It is being done in collaboration with BBC so I have more faith than usually.

      Delete
    2. The BBC tends to do a better job with these period pieces as they have more experience and the English have studied the history of other people. (Even though they are evil Imperialists and I generally hate them).

      Delete
    3. it's true, you can't make a decent epic show without British or Irish :) actors and producers. American ones usually don't get history...

      Delete
  14. That is so sweet about Sam and Laura. They are a gorgeous couple.

And it is hilarious that DaVinci's love in this film is female when most believe that he was gay. He was charged with sodomy in 1476 along with a young man named Jacopo Saltarelli. Still DaVinci never married and there were never any poems or other letters left behind as was typical for artists. So who can really say? And I will stop running on. :) I just love Leonardo and his works so I tend to run on.

    1. it is, isn't it? She said she was afraid to meet him in person, because during their two month correspondence, she fell deeply in love with him as a person and didn't know what to expect from him when he appears in front her for real. I'm officially in love with both of them :)

I'm not sure the world would be ready for a gay lead hero in an epic show, but I did adore the tender love between Agron and his little slave boy in SPARTACUS VENGEANCE :) They were beyond cute.
