HOLLIDAY GRAINGER JOINS HELENA BONHAM CARTER & RALPH FIENNES IN "GREAT EXPECTATIONS"! 1ST TRAILER FOR "THE KILLER ELITE" WITH JASON STATHAM, CLIVE OWEN & ROBERT DE NIRO! DOUGLAS BOOTH IS HAILEE STEINFELD'S ROMEO! JAMES MCAVOY IN "TRANCE"

Now, this is a nice piece of news: breathtaking Holliday Grainger, who mesmerized us all with her beauty as Lucretia
in THE BORGIAS has just joined the new adaptation of GREAT EXPEC TATIONS  To be directed by always sensual Mike Newell (PRINCE OF PERSIA, LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA), as I already mentioned before the film will feature Helena Bonham Carter as rich lady Miss Havisham, who helps a poor orphan Pip throughout his life, and Ralph Fiennes as escaped convict Magwitch. Grainger will play Miss Havisham's adopted daughter Estella who falls in love with the poor orphan (to be played by Jeremy Irvine).

The new adaptation of ROMEO AND JULIET which will feature young Hailee Steinfeld as Julia and Holly Hunter as her
protective nanny with young Ed Westwick as Tybalt, has just found its Romeo. According to "Variety" the lead male role will go to dashing young actor Douglas Booth(THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH). According to "Variety" our dear Brit James McAvoy will replace Michael Fassbender in Danny Boyle's TRANCE, an action drama about an art heist that goes terribly wrong. It seems our dear Luke Evans won't star in ONLY GOD FORGIVES after all :( The lead role has just been taken by Ryan Gosling who will play a career criminal who runs a drug smuggling operation out of a Bangkok boxing gym.

I'm a bit late on this one, since I didn't have space to post it sooner, but here's the first trailer for THE KILLER ELITE, an action flick
with an elite cast which follows Danny (Jason Statham), one of the world's most skilled special-ops agents. Lured out of self-imposed exile to execute a near-impossible feat of retribution and personal salvation, Danny reassembles his old team of operatives to help rescue his former mentor (Robert De Niro), and to penetrate the highly feared and respected military unit, SAS. Facing off against a covert group of ex-SAS soldiers lead by Spike (Clive Owen) Danny and his team must take down a rogue cell of solider assassins before their actions result in a global political meltdown.The film is out this September.
LINK OF THE DAY If you're a fan of Richard Armitage, my dear Fabo has clips of him from CAPTAIN AMERICA over at her WHITE ROSE blog.

  4. Even though it's a boys' film, I knew my ladies wouldn't be able to complain with those two British hunks in the cast :)

  10. @Clarissa
    he he he ... just listen or look at them as well? :)

    @Vics
    yes, I agree with you sister. Although I love him personally, JAmes McAvoy has been choosing some really really bad projects lately and I don't have anything to look for from him currently which is horrible. I want him in dramas, sf, adventures, even romcoms, but not in second rate DVD films and thrillers :(

    off course you are thrilled about British hunks, I mean who isn't? :) We love and adore everything British except their food :)))

    @Lurk
    he he ... I was quite shocked with Clive's mustaches when I saw the trailer for the first time :)))

    @Sammy
    I hope so too, but everything without Leo is better than anything with Leo :)

  17. Hailee was amazing in True Grit, but i still don't see the need for another Romeo and Juliet adaption

    The Killer Elite looks like it cold easily end up being another Expendables. I hope that is not the case

  18. you should watch her in THE BORGIAS, she is really perdy :)

  19. @Dirty
    yep, no need for ROMEO AND JULIET, but nobody ask us :(
    They just do remakes and old stories like our opinion doesn't matter

  20. I can't wait for Great Expectations! Holliday Grainger is extraordinary. And this trailer for Killer Elite looks edgy and exciting.

    Romeo and Juliet...Yawn!

  21. Is Hailee Steinfeld able to adapt with Juliet role? that's quite intriguing.

    Holliday is rather lovely :) Although her character is quite strange in THE BORGIAS, not being what we know and expect from Lucretia, her beauty really did save the day when it comes to the show. Especially since Jeremy Irons really didn't have any charisma in the role of Pope, which is also surprising.

    @Jaccsy
    why wouldn't she be, Jaccsy?

  23. de niro + statham = a must see

  24. Holliday Grainger? Wow...yes please. I'm still not sure about Jeremy Irvine as Pip, though. Say what you want -- and a lot of people were negative -- I thought the 1998 Alfonso Cuaron adaptation with Ethan Hawke, Gwyneth Paltrow, Hank Azaria, Robert DeNiro, and Anne Bancroft was superb. It was the first thing I remember seeing Chris Cooper, and he did such a great job.

  25. @Daniel
    it's a combination many boys will like :)

    @Josh
    yes, I'm not sure why they've chosen Irvine as Pip. He doesn't seem interesting to me.
    I think the difference with that 1998 adaptation was in the fact that it was set in modern times. I reckon this one will be in the past.
