JAMES CAMERON SHOOTING A FILM ABOUT "CIRQUE DU SOLEIL". STUNNING 1ST TRAILER FOR EPIC SAGA "THE BORGIAS". TOM HARDY AND SHIA LABEOUF GOING TO "THE WETTEST COUNTY IN THE WORLD"

The show I've been mentioning a lot this year, THE BORGIAS, has finally got its first trailer. Coming next year to Showtime instead of THE TUDORS, from director Neil Jordan (CRYING GAME, INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE) and producer Michael Hirst (THE TUDORS, ELIZABETH THE GOLDEN AGE),
the new historical saga will follow the inglorious Borgia family which was very powerful in Italy during the Renaissance. Jeremy Irons plays Rodrigo Borgia, the cunning, manipulative patriarch of the Borgia family who ascends to the highest circles of power using his cunning plots and unscrupulous intrigues. At the beginning of the series he becomes Pope, propelling himself, his two Machiavellian sons Cesare (François Arnaud) and Juan (David Oakes), and his scandalously beautiful daughter, Lucrezia (Holliday Grainger), to become the most powerful and influential family of the Italian Renaissance. The cast also includes acting legends Colm Feore and Derek Jacobi and the composer Trevor Morris.

And here's another cool cast in another unpromising film: according to "MovieWeb" Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf will star together in a prohibition-era dramatic thriller THE WETTEST COUNTY IN THE WORLD,  which will be an adaptation of Matt Bondurant's  novel about a family of Prohibition-era bootleggers, and crimes committed by and against them.

According to "Deadline" James Cameron will make a 3D family adventure set inside the world of the famous CIRQUE DU SOLEIL. The production will use  3D-captured performances from different CIRQUE DU SOLEIL shows in Las Vegas and insert them as the backdrop for a mysterious world that the main character is magically transported into. The project is apparently one third completed.

  1. The Borgias looks amazing! It's a shame I don't have cable. I'll have to wait until it comes out in dvd. Love Jeremy Irons. I'm glad to see him getting roles worthy of his talent.

  6. Cirque sounds intriguing.
    I thought the wettest county movie was going to be based in Seattle until I read the blurb. My grandpa was a bootlegger back in the day! True story!

  10. Of course you know I'm into circus, but I don't know what Cameron will do with it. A bunch of blue circus performers onboard a sinking ship and being pursued by a cyborg from the future? Hmmmm--I don't know.

  11. ew, the Borgias...And Cirque! I wanted to write a story set in a circus along the lines of what they do... but it changed.

    I bet that movie will be gorgeous~ :o)

  12. Wow! Thanks for sharing. The Borgias is definitely my thing.

    Big fan of Shia LaBeouf. Movie sounds interesting, especially since I have a few bootleggers in my family's history. (Since American Indians were denied work because of the color of their skin in the south, they did what they had to in order to feed their family during the depression.)

    yep, the two of them will make a great couple :) And BORGIAS will be super cool and hot at the same time, if you get what I mean.

    @Arlee
    maybe you could be Cameron's professional consultant on this one? :)

    @Leigh
    what happened? Didn't like a clown as the main character? :)

  17. @Avalon
    yep, I knew BORGIAS were our thing :)
    Yes, I remember how Native Americans were given alcohol which killed them, and its ironic they would bootleg it later on. History is such a bit@#h!

    @Lisa
    must see, must see!!!

    @J.M.
    you might have read it here, since I've been mentioning the show for a long time now.

    @Kristin
    glad you like it

  18. That Cirque du Soleil sounds intriguing. Now that's a movie to be seen in 3D, and with Cameron, we know he'll make it with that technology, not just some conversion crap. I have yet to see a Cirque de Soleil performance though, bummer!

  19. Yep, Flixy, can't imagine a project more suited for 3D than CIRQUE DU SOLEIL film in the hands of Cameron.

  20. I've heard of CIRQUE DU SOLEIL and know that many people want to see it (but have difficulties getting tickets) so I'm glad that we can watch it on screen.

  21. Original Crime family; Borgia will do well! Jeremy Irons is brilliant; he can do controversy, like no other. I can't wait~ Not sure about Cirque, i do love it, but not quite sure of Cameron's vision. I am sure it will shine. And yes, I think the Moonshine movie will be great! I think it will have the Tom n' Huck vibe, yes, we will need a Becky!

    CICQUEL DU SOLEIL have 20 different troops and different shows, but it is still very difficult getting tickets for one of their performances.

    @Ella
    I love BORGIAS tagline - THE ORIGINAL CRIME FAMILY :)
