ANNE HATHAWAY IS THE NEW "BARBARELLA"! TAYLOR LAUTNER GOES STEAMPUNK IN "INCARCERON". FIRST OFFICIAL "THOR" POSTER AND TRAILER!

The film adaptation of the 2007 steampunk adventure bestseller written by Catherine Fisher, INCARCERON, which I mentioned a few times before, has got its lead star. Taylor Lautner will play Finn, a young lifelong resident of Incarceron, a fully self-contained prison society. He meets the daughter of the Incarceron warden, who is housed in her own prison which resembles the 17th Century. When they find a mysterious key, and learn about the only man to ever escape the prison, they hatch their own plan to escape.

I love the girl, but I'm not sure where does this sudden hype around her come from? According to fresh rumors Anne Hathaway has been signed by Universal to be the new BARBARELLA. As you know the remake will follow a female mercenary who roams across the universe in a distant future, undertaking missions that require her physical fearlessness, ingenuity and sensuality. The role was previously reserved for Drew Barrymore.

The first official poster and trailer for next year's most anticipated super hero film THOR are here. Starring Chris Hemsworth as
Thor, the epic adventure goes from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard.At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth. The film also stars Anthony Hopkins, Ray Stevenson, Samuel L. Jackson...

    probably because she's the weakest link in THOR :) She is such a bad, bad, bad actress

    @Masy

  4. It amuses me how everyone who comes here has such different opinions and tastes. :) I like Natalie Portman. I don't think she's the best, don't think she's the worst, but I like her.

    I haven't read Incarceron, though it's on my list. But I'm dubious about Lautner. Will he keep his shirt on this time?

    And really, Anne Hathaway as Barbarella? I don't think so.

    Can't wait for Thor, though!

  5. Have no problemo with Anne as Barbarella, I'm sure she'll be an awesome kick-ass barbar :))

    it's not that strange, Summer, after all you must bare in mind that we all come from different parts of the world and different cultures, so our tastes may differ :) I've personally seen too many movies which Natalie ruined herself with plastic and superficial acting or with extremely bad accent (STAR WARS, THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL...)
    I'm guessing Lautner will take off his shirt at least once :)

    @Jaccsy
    ah, I know you're into Anne Jaccsy :) and that you wouldn't mind seeing her without the Barbarella costume as well :)

  7. I won't hear a bad word said against Natalie Portman ;)
    The trailer looks badass, I'm really looking forward to seeing this soon!
    I don't think I'll be able to shake off the horror of Twilight from anything Lautner does in the future, sadly.

  8. he he ... Jamie I apologize immediately for any of my previous, current and future attacks of Natalie's acting :)) I will keep your love for her in my mind :P
    Yep, Lautner will forever bear the stain of Twilight on his bare chest :)

  9. Wouldn't mind if she's with me not with that other guy :)) What the.. should get rid of this bad thought now :P

  10. yes, yes, quickly before the future Mrs. Jaccsy comes and reads this :P

  11. Incarceron looks somewhat promising. Taylor is more than welcome to remove his shirt or more if the script calls for it...

  14. can't say too much as I would probably get arrested but that Taylor Launter is far too good looking, and personally think he should date me, in fact I'm writing him a letter ha ha. Can't wait for Thor the poster is very cool. And i'm still giggling at that comment you left on my post. You are a funny boy lol x

  15. I'm about to leave another crazy comment over at your site, watch yourself :)
    And yes, there should be a law stating that Lautner should and must date you, only you and noone else (except in the moments when you think that three isn't a crowd :)))

  16. PS - there will be some serious gorgeousness in my post tomorrow as well. You've been informed!

  18. I'm glad I got you excited,J.M. I do love when that happens :)

  19. Taylor Lautner as Finn? Somehow I didn't picture him looking like that. I sure hope he doesn't ruin Incarceron, because I really love the book.

  20. i've never heard of barbarella... babar, yes, barbara-anne, yes, but barbarella? hmmm...

  21. @Eagle
    we shall keep our fingers crossed ;)

    @Vics
    Jane Fonda played Barbarella in a cult sf flick from the 60's or 70's. It was an extremely cheesy film but there's also a comic based on the character.

  22. Ah, all very cool news to learn! Thank you, Dezmond. I loved the original Barbarella movie, directed by Roger Vadim, and hopefully the new one will do just as good a job of inspiring fashion and trends. (And hopefully it'll be just as campy and silly, though I don't really see that happening.) Great to hear about this steampunk adaptation, too.

  23. glad you enjoyed the news, Sammy. And yes, I don't think such campy sf would be accepted today :) but I loved the same cheesiness in FLASH GORDON and DUNE as well.

  24. I remember the original Barbarella ... showing my age here.

    Hope they capture the essence of the old film with the remake.

    Interesting post as usual dear Dezmond :)

  25. Thor looks amazing. I don't know much about that story so I should do more research.

  26. Incarceron sounds excellent-- I'm really down for the sound of that one. I remember going to see the original Barbarella at the drive-in movie, but I don't really remember the movie. Maybe I wasn't really watching it that closely. Then again that was something like 40 years ago I guess.

  27. Cool to hear Taylor is furthering his career. He is pretty popular in my house (among my nieces), but I bet you already knew this.

    I like Drew, but glad to hear Anne received the role.

  28. @Wendy
    And I'm guessing you wouldn't mind i that guy Pigor appears in the new version as well? :)))

    @Clarissa
    it is quite a complicated story so even I don't know much about it :) But I'm generally not an expert on super heroes and comics.

    @Arlee
    maybe you were watching Jane Fonda too closely instead of the story :) Although I'm not sure there was a story in BARBARELLA :))

    @Avalon
    yep, Taylor is very popular among the girls, and the same goes for his ex girlfriend Taylor Swift :)

  29. ahhh, glad you agree with me Dez. Oh you have me interest at its peek, I'll be over tomorrow

  30. uhm, Agent Sanders that tomorrow was actually yesterday :) I meant the pics of Ashton, Biel and Bradley :)

  31. I think Hathaway is a decent actress, but is it just me, or is she over-saturating the market???

    And I guess I'll have to read Incarceron now... :P
