Now, you know how I think DARK KNIGHT is the worst film I've ever seen :) but I know most of you are excited about the third part of the saga THE DARK KNIGHT RISES so here's the new update: Charlize Theron  has been offered the role of  detective Sarah Essen, who will be the new love interest for Gary Oldman's character, Jim Gordon, while Vera Farmiga has auditioned for the role of Julie Madison , who will be Bruce Wayne's new love interest. As you know Tom Hardy is also a new addition to the cast which includes Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman.

The stunning Sunday premiere of the new zombie show THE WALKING DEAD has officially become the highest rated premiere in AMC history. It also became the highest ranking premiere for 2010 on all cable channels. I, myself, was quite amazed by the first episode even though I don't like gore and too much bizarre bloodshed on TV, this one just had amazing storytelling, it was thought provoking and what I liked the most was the warm and humane nature of the main character. Didn't expect that in a zombie series :) Did you watch it?

Baz Luhrmann (MOULING ROUGE, ROMEO AND JULIET, AUSTRALIA) is moving on with his adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's famous novel THE GREAT GATSBY. Buzz wants Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby and Tobey Maguire as
Nick Carraway. Both of them already read the roles for the director and what's interesting is that young Rebecca Hall was with them reading the role of Daisy. It seems she is now the first candidate for the female lead. But according to "Deadline" Baz is looking to audition a number of Hollywood's biggest names before making his final decision on all the roles. His wishlist currently includes Keira Knightley, Amanda Seyfried, Blake Lively, Abbie Cornish, Michelle Williams, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson.

Cameron Crowe has narrowed his list of actresses who might join Matt Damon in WE BOUGHT A ZOO to Scarlett Johansson, Amy Adams, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Rachel McAdams. The film will be the true account of a family which used their life savings to buy a dilapidated zoo, replete with 200 exotic animals facing destruction, in the English countryside.

  1. Liked The Walking Dead. Really good, creepy and well done. I also liked that a lot of the action took place during day and I must say it was well worth the wait...

  2. You have the scoop on who directors are considering for parts?! Wow!
The new Batman movie has some major stars in it!!!!
For some reason, Matt Damon seems like a guy who would run a zoo....but Amy Adams seems like the right actress for that type of role.

  3. @Jaccsy
it really was an amazing premiere. I liked the fact that it didn't have too much action, and that the scary scenes were well-paced and brilliantly directed. It had more depth than I expected. My favourite part was when he went back to the park to ease the suffering of that legless zombie who was crawling around helplessly. That was so thoughtful.

spies know everything, Kelly, it's possible that I even know what you had for breakfast :))

  4. Zombies are the new vampires. Is this as step up or down?

    Tossing It Out

  5. a step up because zombies are real unlike the vampires :)))

  6. we recorded Walking Dead but haven't had a chance to watch it yet

  7. Heh heh, I'll try not to hold it against you regarding the Dark Knight (since I thought it was awesome). I'm a little confused why they would think Commissioner Gordon needs a love interest, but that's Hollywood for you. And I'm waiting for my parents to head back home so my son and I can watch our DVR'd The Walking Dead. I'm looking forward to it.

  8. loved the walking dead. it was really good. I agree with your assessment.

  9. AND Walking Dead takes place in the ATL! I haven't watched it yet but I heard it was great!

  10. I just learned what The Great Gatsby is all about. I think Leo as Gatsby and Tobey as Nick sounds like a good idea. I think they're buddies in real life too, but I don't think they've ever worked together.

I was wishing for Marion Cottilard as Catwoman but Vera Farmiga would be a great choice as Bruce's love interest... I see her as the same league as Maggie Gyllenhaal acting-wise but even prettier. I like Charlize but I'm not keen on her to be on TDKR for some reason.

  11. @Falen
I think you will enjoy it, Falen ;)

I'm not sure either, maybe it would be better to have Charlize as Bale's girlfriend and not Oldman's? Don't wanna shock the parents with the zombies? :)

    glad you agree, Budd ;)

  12. @Matthew
it does take place in Atlanta :) And it was really great.

haven't read the book? I had to write a lot of essays on it during my studies :) I know I will hate the movie thanks to Leo. And I'm sad, because you know how much I love Baz.
Charlize needs to be a superhero on her own :)

  13. I didn't realize you have no love for Leo... I'm not a huge fan of his either, but to be fair he does seem good for the role. Though of course I probably like the movie more if they cast Gerry Berry or Karl Urban in the role ;)

  14. Chocolate milk and a handful of raspberries (I may or may not have had a mini Hershey bar too from the Halloween candy stash...)
    Did you guess right? :)

  15. @Flixy
oh, yes, I really really don't like him. And I avoid all the films with him. Million other actors would be much better in that role, and I don't like Tobey in the other role either. I want Patrick Wilson as Nick and Butler or Purefoy or Urban as Gatsby :) And Blunt as Daisy :)

off course I did, and you also took a small bite of your hubs for breakfast as well:)

  16. Well Patrick has been in a movie with Butler before (Phantom of the Opera) but yeah I can see them as Nick and Gatsby. Butler would KILL as a dashing, rich debonair... he always looks great in tailored suits [swoon] Either Lee Pace or that kid in TRON Legacy (Garrett Hedlund) might be good as Nick. Oh, Purefoy is awesome, too... Dez, you really do have great taste ;)

  17. I thought the Walking Dead got off to a great start! I'll keep watching.
And Oldman and Theron? How come I don't get the young women?

  18. @Flixy
oh, yes, Lee Pace would fit nicely as well! As would Stuart Townsend and James Franco and off course our Henry Cavill :) I do indeed have a great taste :)))

probably because there are no women on CASSASTAR.

  19. Hey Dezz - I haven't seen The Walking Dead. I should. I will.
Really, all I could focus on were ScarJo's breasts - they look a little saggy in that pic. She just needed to put her arms above her head, turn to the side a bit . . . LOL Don't ask. Love her bod though, cuz she isn't super, super skinny. I know she isn't your fav, Dez, my friend, but I like her.

  20. Never cared for the Dark Knight neither.

Love the sexy blue on Charlize.

The photo you posted of Amy Adams favors Nicole Kidman a bit.

  21. How superbly awesome! I loved The Dark Knight and can't wait for The Dark Knight Rises! Thanks for this heads up. Didn't catch Walking Dead last night, but I've heard good things.

  22. The Theron character sounds quite intriguing. I really had a deep connection with the Gordon character in the first two films, so to see him possibly being explored in this way is exciting in my opinion.

  23. Count me in, as one who watched the "Walking Dead", Sunday night!

Yeah, put Gerard and Patrick together again...they played well off each other!

  24. @Shells
I love the sexy new pic Shells :)
Yes, I don't like Scarlett as an actress, but she does have an amazing body and I do believe men adore the shape of her boobs just the way they are :) Men always like it natural :)

I like the blue on Charlize too :) Blue looks good on blonds.

  25. @Bryan
glad I got you excited, Bry :)

glad you find it intriguing, Danny ;)

oh, everyone watched THE WALKING DEAD on Sunday :))

  26. I really loved the older version of Gatsby but I would love to see a modern version done. As long as they keep the suspense, eeriness and wonderful acting in it.

  27. I don't remember too much suspense in GATSBY :) but a lot of bored rich people doing pretty much nothing, but I do expect wonderful acting in Baz's version!

  28. Mmm, Amy Adams. My vote goes to her :P
I've recorded Walking Dead, and hopefully I'll watch it today (why in the hell would they put the UK release date on Guy Fawkes night rather than hallowe'en?! What's the world coming to?) I'm saddened that the riddler isn't going to be in Dark Knight Rises, but chances are it's gonna be a kick ass movie either way.

  29. What? You mean here in Serbia we watched THE WALKING DEAD before you British people?? :)))) Now, that's a rare situation :) We're watching the second episode tomorrow.

  30. I really don't think two new female roles (intended to be love interests) would help new Dark Knight to become more "romantic" film. So, why bother? I lost what little interest I had in Batman character after The Dark Knight movie. I don't want to see him in comics, TV, or theatres.

I don't plan to watch the Walking Dead TV show. A few months ago I finally read (some of) Walking Dead comics. There were so many recommendations for that book that I just couldn't ignore it anymore.
So I took it, and begun reading it... And it was good/OK, but not spectacular, brilliant, never before seen, or really deserving so much compliments of that magnitude.
I can't say anything bad about it either, except maybe that it's printed in black and white. :)
However I can see it doing extremely well in TV series format. It is like it's written for TV and not comic book format.

  31. I totally agree with you on DARK KNIGHT, Bels, but you know that already :)
I think you would actually enjoy THE WALKING DEAD show. You know I don't watch gorefest shows and films, but if I liked this one you know it must be special :)

  32. I've already read Walking Dead. At least first 15-20% of comics written so far (and then stopped). Not sure how much is that in TV minutes, but I guess it is at least several episodes.
I believe series story is almost the same as comics story. So, I'm good for a while. :) There is a chance I'll continue with reading (or start watching) some time in the future.
Still, I don't think I will go back to Walking Dead. There are many stories more interesting to me that I can watch or read instead of Walking Dead.
But I do believe that this will be a very popular TV series, even with those that haven't read comic book.

  33. well, it isn't really about the story (which IS great)but more about the atmosphere they've managed to depict in the show. I watched the two hour premiere without blinking ... it was that great :) The second episode was more action packed.
