FIRST PREVIEW CLIP FROM SHOWTIME'S UPCOMING HISTORICAL SAGA "THE BORGIAS" WITH JEREMY IRONS

Check out the first preview clip in which director Neil Jordan ("Crying Game", "Interview with a Vampire"), producer Michael Hirst ("The Tudors", "Elizabeth the Golden Age") and actor Jeremy Irons talk about the most anticipated show "The Borgias" which is coming to Showtime in 2011. "The Borgias" will be a complex, scandalous, edgy, unvarnished portrait of one of history’s most intriguing and infamous dynastic families whose power and influence eventually lead them to their demise. Their motto was "politics have no relation to morals". Jeremy Irons will portray pope Rodrigo Borgia, the cunning, manipulative patriarch of the Borgia family, Colm Feore will play his arch enemy Cardinal Giuliano Della Rovere, while François Arnaud will play Cesare Borgia, Rodrigo's Machiavellian son. The roles of Juan and Lucretia Borgias are yet to be cast.

  2. I suppose this show will be a worthy replacement for Tudors. :) People who like these kind of stories deserve a show such as this one (if it turns out as it should).
Sadly, I probably won't watch this. Nut I'm still interested in who will play Lucretia.

  6. I have to read up on this before I see it. Am also glad that Jeremy Irons will be doing justice to this production.

Dezmond, it doesn't matter whether the actress that plays Lucrezia is known or unknown, just that she can hold her own with Jeremy. You're right, her role is crucial!

  7. Well, she has to be stunningly beautiful and a great actress, but it wouldn't hurt if it's someone we know, because it would attract more audience. Jeremy isn't popular enough to attract bunch of people.

welcome to HOLLYWOOD SPY :) Yes, I'm also expecting a lot from this show, especially since THE TUDORS are finishing this month, and THE BORGIAS should come instead of them next year on Showtime.
