EVA LONGORIA AND NATHAN FILLION MIGHT JOIN "THE AVENGERS"

Now these are good news. We've kinda already mentioned these things before, but the rumors are circulating wildly again: the hottest housewife Eva Longoria and the hottest space cowboy Nathan Fillion might become superheroes in the superhero extravaganza "The Avengers". As HOLLYWOOD SPY reported two years ago, Eva Longoria could get the role of Janet Van Dyne, who transforms into sexy The Wasp, while Nathan Fillion could get the role of Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym, who transforms into Ant-Man. They were first partners as scientists in the Marvel comics, and after that they got married. Two years ago, Eva Longoria was seen leaving Marvel Studios with a copy of "The Avenger" comic book and rumors also state that Nathan is currently negotiating to take the role in the series of "The Avengers" movies.
Official announcements of the casting for "The Avengers" will probably be revealed at San Diego Comic Con this July.

  1. Ha! Love it-- Ant-Man. Now the question for us is: "Which would you rather be--an ant or a wasp?" I've always been fascinated by ants, but then again I'd love to be able to fly. Hmmm.

  2. awww! i LOVE Nathan Fillion! I want him to be in this movie.
BUT Hank Pym is the asshole of the Marvel verse and had a few moments of wife beating.
It will make me sad to see nice Nathan be such an ass

I'm not totally sure you would fit the Wasp costume, so you better take the ant role ;)

    @Falsy
I believe you've told us many many many times before how much you love Nathan :)) I would also prefer to see him as Hawkeye!

  5. Hey, I'm not talking about costumes, I'm talking about real insects.

yep, we wouldn't mind seeing Nathan in any of the big upcoming movies.

I know, I was trying to be funny. But when talking about insects I think I'd be a busy bee :) producing honey, buzzing around, hanging out among flowers and sweetening people's lives with honey.

  8. Though I'm sure both actors would do their roles credit, I'm inclined to agree with you, Dez, that Nathan would make a better Hawkeye. As for Eva, even though she might not look the part, I'm all for seeing her in whatever she's in!

  10. Hmm, I never pictured Eva L as a superhero. I wonder how she'll do?

Hey, you probably don't need this but I gave you a blog award!

  11. I'm w/ Lydia about how Eva will do as a superhero. She got her start on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS & was good in that as she turned into the villainess. Then we all know about DESPERATE HOUSWIVES & how that helped her career. I recall she did a movie a few years back that didn't do so well. But, this may really launch her career up into the stratosphere!

  12. Not sure about Eva but Nathan sounds like a good choice, he's obviously got cred after Firefly/Serenity and he's awesome as Capt. Hammer in those Dr. Horrible Sing-a-long movies (http://doctorhorrible.net/) If you haven't watched it, it's a hoot!

yes, Eva hasn't really proved herself so far in the movies, so we still have to see her in a good big screen role.

hey, Lydia, thanks, I shall drop by immediately :)

  15. There is a fear/concern that "too many" Avengers characters would be "too much" for an average non-comic viewer. In that case, Wasp and Ant-man would be the first to go.
However Marvel(Disney) plans to make/produce several mini films/features (both live-action and animated) in order to introduce some of less known Marvel characters. Those films/clips would accompany animated (straight to DVD) films, or would be screened in theatres before regular films.
A 10 minute feature story would be good enough for some purposes (mainly introduction).

  16. I would personally like seeing less important characters in THE AVENGERS, since the audience might find the main 5 or 6 a bit boring since they've already seen them in their separate movies. New characters could be refreshing.

  17. Yay!! Gawd I love Nathan Filion!! I hope he wins!

  18. there's also a separate ANT MAN movie in preproduction, so we shall see who will play him there, and whether it will be Nathan Fillion.
