DANIEL DAY LEWIS PROFESSOR MORIARTY IN "SHERLOCK HOLMES 2", KELLAN LUTZ'S PIC AS POSEIDON IN "IMMORTALS", PAUL BETTANY'S PIC FROM "THE PRIEST"

Here's a mishmash of fresh movie updates for the boring old Sunday :)According to some rumors, if Tom Cruise's "Knight & Day" fails at Box Office, Paramount Pictures might kill Ethan Hunt, his action hero character in "Mission Impossible" and add a subplot that introduces a new, younger protege for Cruise's character in "Mission Impossible 4".

After the first images of Henry Cavill, Freida Pinto and Mickey Rourke in Tarsem Singh's Greek epic "Immortals", new pics from the set reveal a funny little skirt that Kellan Lutz will be sporting around while playing the Greek God Poseidon. Off course Poseidon won't have a mobile phone and a cigarette in his hands and some sneakers on his feet like Kellan does in this paparazzi pic stolen from the set :)

One of the favourite pastimes for movie geeks these days is guessing who will be Professor Moriarty in "Sherlock Holmes 2". Rumor has it that director Guy Ritchie is trying to decide between Sean Penn, Javier Bardem and Gary Oldman, but his main pick would be Daniel Day-Lewis. The role has been recently linked to Brad Pitt as well.

Paul Bettany's vampire sf adventure "The Priest" has been moved to May 2011 again so that it could get 3-D treatment, but we have a new scary pic of Paul as a legendary warrior who disobeys church law by teaming with a young sheriff and a priestess to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The movie has another two amazing actors in its cast - Karl Urban and Stephen Moyer.

  2. I'm not sure if DDLewis would pull of Moriarty, but then again I've not really had chance to see him in many things.

    Priest sounds awesome, Bettany is a brilliant actor and works well in anything that involves religion and/or hellish things. Cannot wait for this one!

  3. i've seen the commercials for knight and day and i'm like, wasn't there action movies with explosions and witty lines amid gunfire with that same looking tom cruise 20 years ago?? if i believed what i saw on the screen, i'd think there is no such thing as time.

    I'm afraid we shall have to wait a long time, since it comes out in almost a year :(

    @Ed

  5. Paul Bettany is a good actor.
    And from the looks of it, Cruise's new movie is not doing well...

  6. yep, it's not doing well, I guess people just don't find Cruise and Diaz interesting anymore - and plus their movie sounds boring :)

  7. The Priest sounds awesome and I can't wait for Sherlock Holmes 2. Has anyone else put two and two together and recognized Professor Moriarty from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? He was the villain in it as well.

    Kinda makes you wonder, are they tryint to tie all these movies together?

    P.S. Paul Bettany was awesome in Legion :D

  8. I think DD Lewis would be brilliant as Moriary, Dez. He does the excentric roles very well. My second pick would be Gary Oldman (he was wonderful as Vlad).

  11. Sherlock Holmes was funny, I am looking forward to a second one. Maybe Daniel will get it, I am not fond of Brad.
    The Priest sounds ok, even though the vampire thing is way overdone.

  12. I say, Mister Lutz just looks eatable in that cute little frock! Looking forward to seeing more of him ;)

  13. Looks cool but the same guy behind Legion is behind The Priest which isn't good but I've been looking forward to this for a while so i will give it a chance.

    well as far as I know Moriarty has always been Sherlock's archenemy so it's inevitable for him to appear in the movie. Richard Roxbourgh has played him amazingly in THE LEAGUE OF THE EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN :)

    @Alan
    Gary was also good in THE SCARLET LETTER (an otherwise horrible little movie thanks to Demi Moore)

    @Nadir
    I must admit I will always associate Stephen Moyer with his first big role as PRINCE VALIANT back when he was young.

  15. @Kristin
    yes, he must be punished for getting caught with a cigarette in his hand. Wanna be the one who will execute the sentence upon him? :))))

    @Avalon
    yep, too much vampires and other bloodsucking creatures all around us!

    @Dieter
    ah, Dieter, some men will always look great in loin cloth (unfortunately, I'm not among them :((( )

    @Jaccsy
    You know THE LEGION is my guilty pleasure :))

  16. The DDLewis rumors make me way happier than the Brad Pitt rumors. I hope he'll be in it!

  17. ah, it seems not many people like the idea of Brad in this flick :))

  18. No idea who this Kellan guy is. I want to see more pics of Henry!!!! :) Man, I can't wait to see the trailer for Immortals.

    As for Moriarty, my first pick would be DDL. Yep, I echo everybody: NO Brad, just bad idea anyway you look at it. Plus, he just doesn't convey 'intelligent and aristocratic' to me.

  19. I'm looking for the new Sherlock Holmes. Daniel Day Lewis would be an excellent addition!

  20. @Flixy
    Kellan is a male top model and he also stars in that TWILIGHT rubbish :) I also can't wait to see anything new about IMMORTALS, new pics, a poster, a teaser ... anything :)))

    @Lydia
    hope the director will fulfill your wishes :)

  21. "...he also stars in that TWILIGHT rubbish" Ah, that explains why I've never heard of him. Tarsem... please, please just give us a trailer before Summer's over ok? We're salivating here! :)

  22. I agree Flixy, but I'm not sure we shall see a trailer before winter :( or maybe Autumn.

  23. ooooh, I'm intrigued by The Priest. This is the first I'm hearing of it.

  24. how do you mean it's the first you're hearing of it, when HOLLYWOOD SPY has written about it at least 5 or 6 times in the last year?????? :))))
