  1. I can't remember seeing John Goodman looking this serious before. :)
Costumes look nice, and story could be interesting. Still, this is not the type of movie I like to watch. Intrigues, rise and fall from power, machinations of aristocracy, clergy, corporate personnel, politicians... Those are not the stories I crave to see or hear. No matter how interesting they could prove to be (even for me, if I hear them by some chance).

  2. Oh, yes, that's what I thought as well :) I'm not sure if we will be able to watch Goodman in a serious role without smiling :)
I think that this will be a story of a woman trapped in a men's world, and acting as a man while still having the heart and passions of a woman.
I'll watch it because I have a sense that the film will have some special visual charisma.

  3. I agree this film will be visually superior but it seems like a strange mix as far as the cast is concerned. These types of films always make me thankful I was not born during that time period. I do not think I would have lived very long considering women were expected to 'do as they are told' and 'speak only when spoken to'.

  4. Goodman is probably the only bigger name they could pay to appear in the film :) that explains his role in the movie. And he needs something different to spice up his CV.

Although I'm an optimist I don't see modern times much different from the darkness that ruled the middle ages: we still have poverty, hunger, strange illnesses, the rule of the rich and the greedy, the harassment of all human beings which are different from the crowd, stupid capitalistic and colonial wars, people blinded by religion ....
Still, I'd also never live in that dark period of history :) But, I'd go in the future, though ;) with Enterprise for example.
